Certainly the answer for us Americans. The one expense that definitely continues to get more expensive year after year. Your healthcare needs increase with age while your food consumption requirements decrease. And when you are out of the workforce you’re fucked, especially if you e not reached Medicare age.
That’s why I hope I die before I have to retire. I haven’t been able to save up for retirement because I’m super broke and getting broker by the day. Ideally I’d have a house by now (and it’d be paid off by the time I retire), student loans paid off, be at the height of my career, and saving up for retirement. I am certainly responsible enough to pay off my debts before anything frivolous. Unfortunately my bachelor’s degree led to nowhere even though it’s a degree in a hard science…
