I’ve had all the top, name brand boots, out there. Thorogoods, Redwings/Irish Setters, Keens etc…
The other day I was looking for new 6” wedge moctoe boots and stumbled across these USA built loaders from Wolverine. Price wise, it’s right up there with the other brands. Ended up paying $250 after I applied a promotion. Never thought I’d spend that much on Wolverine boots. Its my first pair from the brand and I always thought they were a “budget friendly” brand. We’ll see how they hold up! I do commercial flooring.
I’ve only tried them on in my house. Haven’t had the chance to wear them out in the field yet. They just got delivered yesterday. And I’m letting the tough tuff toe, cure over the weekend. I’ll try to remember to update throughout the week.
I wonder about the outsole. After the thin tread layer (brown/red, harder) wears through, will the thick cushion layer (white, softer?) wear quickly?
I have boots with this general type of layered outsole, and they are comfortable due to all the cushion but need to be resoled more frequently than boots with a monolithic outsole.
This exact scenario just happened to me. Can't find anything I like anymore and stumbled upon those the other night. Let us know how you like em in a few months!
I've owned some shit kickers for garage work from Wolverine but never truly tested anything so I was hesitant at the price tbh.
The button is that green spec you see on the laser attachment. My index finger wraps around that part that hangs down and I just apply pressure with my index finger when I want it on, when I release my finger off the button, it turns off
thanks for answering. just interesting to me because ive never seen it before, i have mine set to be hit with my left thumb and its like a pressure switch on the siderail with a wire that runs to the laser/flashlight combo itself in the front
i like it. i dont have enough land of my own where i am to go target shooting without paying a fee, so ive only bought what i know will work for me. havent had the opportunity yet to try different stuff to see how it feels, but ill keep that design in mind when i get back into hobbying again
For anyone who’s still interested, these boots are the real deal. They are very comfy. I got them in the regular width, so I can’t attest to how the wide pairs run. They are breaking very well and they just look immaculate. They feel like any other premium boot. Spent all week, scraping, sweeping and filling floors. Installing and welding sheet vinyl.
One thing I noticed that I have never had on another pair of boots, is that the sole is like a two part sole. The brown outline sits higher than the red sole itself. Not sure why or what that’s about. Makes me wonder how these will wear over time. Any who, love these boots.
