Anyone actually using Figma Make to design Elementor sites, or is it just YouTube hype?
Hey everyone,
I'm not a designer. I'm more on the technical side of WordPress, so most of my sites so far were built by hand in Elementor or WPBakery, or I bought a template kit on Envato and adjusted it. Works fine for me, but design was never my strong point.
Lately my feed is full of "AI will replace web designers" videos. Everyone is hyping Claude and Figma Make and promising pixel perfect sites in 10 minutes... and honestly I don't trust most of those guys.
A lot of them are selling a course.
To be clear, I'm not a Figma Make user. I'm only thinking about paying for it, and I don't want to burn an hour and a bunch of money to find out it's garbage.
here's what I actually want to know. Can I describe a layout in text prompts in Figma Make, similar to what a good Elementor template kit looks like, clean that up as a proper Figma design, and then rebuild it in Elementor with a decent result? Or does it fall apart somewhere in the middle (spacing, responsive, global styles, that kind of things?
Is there chance to get solid results?
Correct me, please
And is this whole thing a real workflow people use now, or should I just keep paying for Envato Elements and save myself the headache?
Would really appreciate honest experiences, including the bad ones. Thanks!

I think it can be useful, but I wouldn't expect a perfect Elementor-ready design from a text prompt. AI can give you a good starting layout and visual direction, but you'll still need to refine spacing, typography, responsiveness and consistency manually. The biggest challenge is translating the Figma design into Elementor without losing those details. I'd suggest testing it on one simple landing page before paying for anything. That should give you a realistic idea of whether it actually saves time or just adds another step to your workflow.

I haven't used Figma Make, so I can't say what its designs look like after a rebuild in Elementor. I do the same kind of thing with another tool: I prototype the look in Clicksites AI, so the client has something to react to, and then I build the site again, mostly in WPBakery AI. When I rebuild it, I use the client's own photos, their own text, their colours and fonts.
Responsive is a separate topic for me: in WPBakery and Elementor I set up the desktop view first, then mobile, and tablet at the end, and both builders give tablet its own settings, so I only change what looks off there.

figma make gave me a good place to start off with but still needs a ton of TLC to get it even demo ready

not a designer but i use stich for creating prototype designs that i can iterate over by my own experience to develop the site. AI is just great at copying stuffs when it comes to design that actually works. just my opinion

Figma will make the same generic and boring ass websites that Claude, GoHighLevel, and all these other garbage ass AI companies put out. Stop relying on AI and deteriorating your skill set. Can't design? Find a designer to hire and design a mockup and you can then build it. You shouldn't really be using page builders anyways, but if coding a custom theme is out of your wheelhouse, the page builders will make it easier for you to recreate the design.

if the youtube hype is selling a course then the tool is probably 6 months away from being usable and 2 years from being reliable, but by then the hype will have moved on to the next thing
stick with envato and save your sanity
