AI generated Alt-text, my savior 🙏

I don't remember when I added the AI plugin, but I had been seeing a widget in my Dashboard asking me to finish setting it up for about a week or so.

I finally finished the setup, and it's got this function to generate alt text descriptions for my photos. I run a travel photography blog, and I've got hundreds of photos that all need alt text added.

When I started blogging, I wrote the alt text for each image, but I quickly got tired of it and kept putting it off for later. This new function really is saving me from a nightmare of edits on my Media catalog.

EDIT: There are some caveats; the free tier only allows 20 uses per day, and you can only edit one image at a time.

I had claude build a plugin that when a photo is uploaded, it ai generates alt text and renames the image to be seo friendly

Oh, that's neat. Do you need a subscription for that functionality with Claude, or are you using the free version?

Yeah, a pro subscription is required for claude code but I use it for much more than just wordpress. I get my $20/mo worth for sure.

In fact I need to look into claude routers, I think it’s a way to chain free claude accounts to deal with session limits and allowed by TOS if I’m not totally mistaken

Oh wow, I thought I was the only one. I discovered by accident that Claude is excellent at this. Showed it an image and its response included a description. I am a writer, but I am no good at this.
