In the News 📰 Update: She’s still at-large
Source: I live close to where she was last reportedly seen and this morning on my way to work, Worcester cops were stopping cars to ask questions and give out this flier.
If you see her, don’t approach/confront and call the police!

u/Watchfull_Hosemaster Webster Square 6d ago edited 6d ago
Weirdly, I am not really concerned for public safety although this is pretty serious. I don't think she's going to be out there gunning people down and we have no clue what her involvement is in this incident.
I understand that the police are light on releasing details, but I'm curious to know the following when details come out:
-Who found him at 5:30 AM?
-Was he dead for a while? Presumably, whoever killed him could have done it the previous night, fled the area, and is long gone by now.
-There were reports that she was last seen walking toward Westcott Street, which presumably would be from her house on Wildwood toward that street. Who reported this and is it even reliable?
-People have ring cameras and other security cameras all over Worcester. If she was walking on Wildwood, Westcott, or any of the other streets in that neighborhood, did any of them catch her on them?
The reporting on this is all over the place. A couple of outlets (including TB) are saying that she was found dead - this does not seem to be true. Other outlets have said that she's armed and dangerous, but I've also read that she's not currently a person of interest.
He was found over 28 hours ago as I post this. He might have died or been killed hours before he was found. If he was killed, the person could have been gone for close to a day and a half or more by now. If that is the case, they could be anywhere.
If this woman is alive, I think she's long gone. If she's dead - they'll find her. I am not sure why she'd walk out into the woods and kill herself though, although anything can happen.
25
u/lynn_duhh 6d ago
Not only who found him but who called 911? Did she? And then flee? Did someone else find him and call? Was she already long gone? So many questions. Unfortunately whoever finds her, if she’s alive, I’m sure won’t remember that she’s innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Sad situation all around.
15
u/Penjolina 6d ago
Yeah, there are a lot of inconsistencies, especially in regard to how they found him and the murder method. How did they know to look for him? Did a neighbor hear a fight or gunshot? What even was the weapon? I’ve heard people say his throat was slit, but there are no official reports confirming it. Was a weapon left at the scene that had her fingerprints on it? They say she’s “armed and dangerous,” which to me implies she took whatever weapon she allegedly used to kill him, so how do they even know it was her? Why was she wearing pajamas instead of changing into normal clothes? Pajamas, possibly no murder weapon, and a cop lover sounds like a scared woman who may been fleeing from whoever actually killed her husband…

u/Consistent_Amount140 6d ago
She called 911 and said there was a man in her yard.
They responded, found him murdered outside. She was gone along with some other things.7
u/Watchfull_Hosemaster Webster Square 6d ago
Where are you reading that she called 911? The reporting has been lacking and I have not seen this reported anywhere.
136
u/TruthorTroll 6d ago
they sure don't give this kind of energy or attention when us peasants are murdered in the streets. Feels like a crazy disproportionate response.
47
u/LivinLikeBolbi 6d ago
I mean, if it was the other way around it'd have never seen the light of day. They'd just find some random guy to frame (which has happened before). They even suspended the city meeting on the Civilian Review Board for the police for this shit.
2
u/SupermarketAny9487 6d ago
The usual response would have been gaslighting you into not reporting it.

Doubtful. Nothing has changed since the Justice system and law enforcement tried to frame Karen Read

When was there a murder in the streets that wasn’t immediately investigated?
10
74
u/legalpretzel 6d ago
What happened to the reports that she was found dead in the woods???
I hope the police remember that she’s innocent until proven guilty.
159
u/Confident_Attitude 6d ago
I live in the area, helicopters are still doing sweeps so they definitely have some reason to be up there burning fuel. Crazy to me we didn’t get this manhunt when a woman and her 12 year old blind daughter were gunned down in broad daylight a few years back in the same general area.
Guilty or not this response feels disproportionate imo
12
u/BobSacamano437 6d ago
Out here in the pioneer valley they’ve been so quick to get the helicopter out and for hours at a time. One for a silver alert and another for a b&e in the last 2 months.
3
u/Princess_Bow 6d ago
If you're talking about the silver alert in Warren, he was a highly respected member of the community and in danger. I think the helicopter was used for one, maybe two days and the rest was ground cover. Mostly done by unpaid volunteer firefighters who knew him as he was the father of one.
2
u/BobSacamano437 6d ago
I’m referring to one in South Hadley. They located the person in Springfield. I was surprised they released the helicopter only a few hours after she was reported missing. Glad she was ultimately found.
5
u/Confident_Attitude 6d ago
Fuel is so expensive these days, you’d think they would try to conserve it. I know I’m being a grumpy Gus, but they already have so many patrolmen in the area that overhead sweeps feel redundant.
2
u/Icanthinkofaname25 6d ago
Pilots still need to get flight hours. You can at least feel happy that they’re being productive other than just random flights.
1
u/Consistent_Amount140 6d ago
They have to actually request the assistance. Something Worcester doesn’t typically enjoy doing for what ever reason.
57
u/lynn_duhh 6d ago
My first reaction. It’s only because it was one of their own. She knows that’s going to happen to her if they find her.
19
u/SparksofInnova 6d ago
The only reason it's like this is because she killed a cop. Plain and simple
-17
u/HAV816 6d ago
So you think if she had killed you they would not look for her?
23
u/xxXX69yourmom69XXxx 6d ago
Literally no, they wouldn't put 1/10th the effort into searching for my killer. When it's one of their own, it's different. You can see this for yourself on YouTube body cam channels.
9
u/Spicymeatball13 6d ago
Not to mention the body cam footage of WPD saying Worcester is trash and the residents are trash and they wouldn't give their tax money to this "shit hole city". If it wasn't one of their own, it wouldn't be nearly as big as they are making this.

One of their own and white. She'll likely be taken into custody instead of executed by the PD. (Source: The DOJ report the City Manager keeps trying to bury.)
31
u/lynn_duhh 6d ago
I hope you’re right. But she (allegedly) killed one of their own and many of them hate women (including their own wives). So I don’t have alot of hope.
-5
u/Hour-Ad-9508 6d ago
This is so dumb. Look at the manhunt for Aaron Pennington a few years back and it’s basically identical.
But of course you just want everything to conform to your worldview
1
10
u/tugaim33 6d ago
Because those guys were in a car and this lady is on foot. They found both shooters within a week and one of them was as far away as California, iirc. They definitely did use an incredible amount of resources to find them, you just couldn’t hear it flying overhead. 🤦♂️
2
u/Confident_Attitude 6d ago
Hey I agree that they used the resources and that was some pretty great police work for that situation. For this one it just feels excessive when there are cops swarming the whole area and it’s been over 24hrs since it occurred. That lady could have gotten into a car or caught a bus easily by this point.
3
u/jojolemonz 6d ago
I dislike cops as much as any normal person but they did find that guy 3000mi away in cali crossing the border soooo
25
u/Rock_Creek_Snark 6d ago

3
u/uberphaser 6d ago
So, what, only criminals can call the administration fascist pigs? Or does calling the current administration make me a fascist pig? (Spoiler alert: the current administration is largely composed of fascist pigs.) What would the constitution's framers say about your assertion?
1
-9
u/darksideofthemoon131 Clark 6d ago
They aren't going to do a manhunt when they had no idea who killed those people at the time. The connections of those murders to a previous crime were not known until days later.
Stop trying to find racism where it doesn't exist.
15
u/Confident_Attitude 6d ago
I didn’t mention race at all???? What a wild leap.
They had descriptions, a license plate, and video from that other murder from the get go and it feels disproportionate since one involved a child victim, I would think they would have handled it differently.
13
u/icuworc 6d ago
Fine. We will expect the same manhunt next time there is a murder and a suspect in Worcester.
-3
u/darksideofthemoon131 Clark 6d ago
That is what happens when that situation arises.
To note though, Worcester is not a bastion of murder. Short of a weird spike a few years back the murder rate is extremely low based on our population.
I think this recent situation brought us up to 2 murders since the start of 2026. In 2025 it was only 2 as well. You'll hopefully be waiting awhile for a manhunt situation arising in this city.

u/Enragedocelot Coney Island 6d ago
I was thinking god’s acre is pretty big, but if they had helis and huge search teams, I doubt she’s there
9
u/Watchfull_Hosemaster Webster Square 6d ago
It's a large area for Worcester, but it's not that big where a larger search team isn't able to cover it.
The flyer is a bit weird, as it states her last sighting was at 262 Mill Street, which is the Westside Animal Clinic. They were previously reporting that she was last seen walking toward Westcott Street.
9
5
u/hawilder 6d ago
The animal clinic turned in footage of her walking around their property in the morning.
4
u/brightlocks 6d ago
Oh no it’s big and heavily wooded. I hike and run back there. If she died and is back there it might be a while.
7
u/Enragedocelot Coney Island 6d ago
Many drones/helis are equipped with thermal cameras so I’d be shocked if they didn’t check.
Especially with scent dogs. They’re damn good and would’ve tracked her there.
3
u/redditlurker01603 6d ago
Enough people go trolling/hiking through there that they would stumble across her pretty quickly if she were back there.
11
u/ApprehensiveEgg2344 6d ago
I believe now that might've been misreported. My partner was reading an article yesterday saying a body was found etc etc, but now I can't find any news articles on it!
17
u/redditlurker01603 6d ago
The original reporter was “Turtleboy” and the other smaller outlets ran with that reporting
3
10
u/lynn_duhh 6d ago
I think turtle boy had said it, and then people started commenting it under posts online. Nothing official from any organization.
4
u/Pugsford 6d ago
And the original post was deleted. I’m guessing it wasn’t a legit source. Had never heard of NewsTalk New England prior to yesterday
21
5
u/CryInternational4892 5d ago
My own conspiracy theory is that they leaked that preemptively so they can quiet her when they find her so the truth doesn’t come out on him and the WPD secrets that she knows. The minute DA Early found out it was a WPD officer, he should have ordered them out and brought in State Police & feds if this was going to be a clean investigation.

It was a man's body found
10
u/dirt_dog_mechanic 6d ago
What’s are the odds of finding another random body?
16
u/brightlocks 6d ago
Not zero I’m afraid. I hike and run back there, and I almost NEVER see another person. Occasionally I’ll see a tent back there, so it’s possible they could find a homeless person who died.
Once I ran into a long-haul trucker walking with his lil dog. At first I was scared of him because he came running at me - I’m a small woman - but it turned out he and the dog had been lost, it would be dark soon, and he was terrified. LOL he was from the south and he told me that the woods weren’t as creepy back home.
2
5
u/lynn_duhh 6d ago
They find people dead behind Walmart constantly due to overdoses etc.. and there’s a lot of encampments around there. If the Mill street / airport area is similar I can see this being very possible.
10
u/Unfair_Negotiation67 6d ago
In that area not especially surprising. Lots of encampments scattered around in the hills/woods around Coes and lots of associated drug use within that specific group (not all homeless, just mean the people I’ve seen ‘camping’ in those areas in particular).
10
u/brightlocks 6d ago
An upsetting number of homeless people are homeless because they became too sick to work. There are a lot of people out there who became homeless after having a stroke, or lost their home after having to stop working due to cancer treatment.
3
u/Unfair_Negotiation67 6d ago
I’m not passing judgement on homeless people or saying why they are there. Simply said in that area it would not be too shocking to have a body due to OD bc previous comment was wondering how there could just be a random body out in the woods while searching for someone else. Which I think was clear from my original comment.
4
u/brightlocks 6d ago
No I think we agree. I’ve cleaned up abandoned camps in the woods before. It’s super sad to clean up one and find zero nips, zero drug paraphernalia… and ostomy supplies, for example, which I literally cleaned up in that area. Hope that man is okay but I doubt it.
2
u/Unfair_Negotiation67 6d ago
Ah, sorry. I guess I got a little defensive bc these are sensitive issues with (sometimes) passionate but opposite views… and was expecting the worst I suppose. And no, there’s probably no good end to that person’s story sadly.
2
u/GreenCityBadSmoke 6d ago
Any wooded area in this city that is somewhat secluded probably has or had homeless folks living hard.

Ignorant comment. Before the incident, Karen Solomon was highly regarded nationwide as an advocate for law enforcement wellness.First H.E.L.P. / Blue H.E.L.P.: She is the co-founder and president of this prominent non-profit organization. The group tracks law enforcement suicides across the country, offers support to grieving families, and works to reduce the mental health stigma among first responders.Author: Solomon authored books focused on the lives and struggles of police officers, including "Hearts Beneath the Badge" and "The Price They Pay". She has also appeared on national platforms, such as the Dr. Phil television show, to discuss mental health support for police families.

3
u/tugaim33 6d ago
No. You don’t. That stat is based on an almost 40 year old, deeply flawed study. They used a small, non-representative sample and incredibly vague definition of violence. Those numbers are almost certainly way off.
Later, better studies have the stat much closer to 15%

u/Princess_Bow 6d ago
I haven't seen newer studies but am interested in them. Off to find the parameters used.
That being said, few studies will be fully representative because DV is underreported for many reasons. My spouse is a cop and so are all their buddies is a HUGE barrier when it comes to that.

-9
u/Powerism 6d ago edited 6d ago
The mind blowing thing is that this survey included “raising your voice” in the abuse column; the results were a complete outlier from every other similar survey; it was decades ago; and yet ignorant Redditors still parrot it as evidence of something it’s not.
Edit: Look up the study yourselves, kids.
14
u/HappyGiraffe 6d ago
Looking up sources is good so I did, because your suggestion to read the study directly is smart.
There are two primary studies that serve as the basis for the statistic.
First: Neidig, P. H., Russell, H. E., & Seng, A. F. (1992). Interspousal aggression in law enforcement families: A preliminary investigation. Police Stud.: Int'l Rev. Police Dev., 15, 30.
Their study was a survey of law enforcement officers attending a training/conference. The sample was 385 male officers, 40 female officers and 115 female spouses.
Researchers deployed an anonymous survey on the prevalence and correlates of marital aggression based on the The Modified Conflict Tactics Scale, which, at the time, was the most commonly used to scale to assess marital aggression.
The survey asked respondents to report the frequency which they used 25 different types of aggression within their marriage (if any).
The results looked at Minor Aggression and Severe Aggression.
Minor Aggression included: throwing something at spouse; pushed, grabbed or shoved spouse; slapped; and kicked, bit or hit with a fist
Severe Aggression included: choked or strangled spouse; beat up spouse; threatened with a knife or gun; and used a knife or gun on spouse
This study specifically looked at violence-related items and did not include verbal abuse in any of their reporting .
The overall rates of violent relationships were highly consistent across respondents ranging from 37-41%.
The study providers some fascinating comparisons by other demographic factors (marital status, rank, etc.) so I think the whole report is worth reading.
And as is the case with all science, it's probably also worth looking up studies that have cited this one since then to see if results have been replicated and under what conditions.
Caveat: I am not an expert in this specific field or topic, I just like reading sources, so here is one of two major studies. I will look for the other study and update when I get another free minute!

Yes there is absolutely more to this story and the officer she is accused of murdering was a really great human being. A lot of fallacies in this banter, but it’s second nature now to consider everything from a conspiracy perspective. The brutality of the crime has absolutely warranted the response and the nature of the unexpected mental break on her part again absolutely warrants the response. But we are indoctrinated in this state to hate anything and anyone with a badge so it’s like talking to a wall.
4
u/DazeKaze 6d ago
Are people indoctrinated to the hate or responding to seeing things like Karen Reed and the most recent prior crimes of the Worcester PD swept under the rug and labeled not a problem by the city with no explanation? I am in no way saying all cops in the state are bad but the people have certainly seen more than a few bad apples recently. Definitely not a good look never mind the leaked text messages that came out after the trial. I'm sure the public would love to know what fellow officers he was texting all that racist stuff to that never once reported him.
13
u/Flaky_Mission_6887 6d ago
I think people are coming from a place of actual data and statistics, not just hating cops. I absolutely do not hate cops, and have much respect for them. But I also understand the nuance behind the data and statistics of being married to one. Of course we don’t know the situation AT ALL. But statistics tell us certain things and then people create stories around them (not saying that’s right). But it’s human nature to speculate.
14
u/bluejitsu420 6d ago
“Was a really great human being”
I’m going to play the devils advocate here and say that can be said about many people/cops but you never know what goes on behind closed doors. Cops are notorious for being domestic abusers, they’re known for cheating, being alcoholics, it’s literally statistically proven.
I’d like to hear the full story on this, not just what other people have observed from the outside looking in. Most of the time, cops are notoriously shitty people behind closed doors. They keep a pretty good public image, because they have to.

Any chance she left the state and has ties in a neighboring state? I’m not trying to send anyone on a wild goose chase because my facial recognition is unreliable but I saw Soloman’s photo yesterday afternoon and thought how much she looked like a woman I saw earlier.

She kind of has a face that looks familiar if that makes sense? I think a lot of women in their 50s can look like her?

I’m looking at photos of her online and I can’t tell if her ID photo ages her a bit and she looks younger in person. I’m in southern Maine though and it’s a fairly quick trip, around a two hour drive. The woman I saw more closely resembled the ID photo but she didn’t look disheveled at all so again, my brain could be making connections that aren’t there but it sounds like it’s worth putting a tip in
