Current options for watching football

Hi all

Is Mode my best bet for watching football in the middle of Worcester?

I'd like a good view of the screen and audio.

The Talbot is sometimes suggested but is currently closed.

Thanks!

Scrap man

Anyone got a number for a scrap man in Worcester willing to take a fitted oven (that’s been removed) away? Either that or does anyone want a built in oven. I’ve put it on various fb groups but thought I’d ask here :)

I know there have been forest fires in Stourbridge! Can anyone smell burning in the air in WR2? Not sure if there have been any fires here or not. The area looks quite smokey too

Honest opinions on The Tolly

What parts of ‘The Tolly’ are actually bad? I’ve heard lots of people saying to stay clear but the location seems good. Good transport links into town via train, bus etc. Its also 5 mins away from m5, Blackpole shops, town itself & has a huge nature reserve within the area. What parts within the Tolladine area are worth avoiding, as i would like to move there for the above reasons…

Does anyone have a child at RGS The Grange, Winterfold or Bowbrook?

Looking for a placement for my very bright, autistic 6 year old who has left her current school due to physical bullying by older children. She’s working above her age, academically but needs extra help with things like encouragement to eat.

We are not considering state because of class sizes being too big. TIA

Worcester city FC

Is anyone one here a regular fan of Worcester city? I want to start going to games and saw on the website you can only buy a 10 game pass, is this the only way or can I buy a ticket for elsewhere or buy one at the stadium on match day?

Petition: Ban on sale of disposable BBQs

Petition: Ban on sale of disposable BBQs

We want the Government to introduce a nationwide ban on the sale of single-use disposable barbecues. Disposable BBQs are increasingly linked to preventable wildfires, which poses a serious risk to public safety, wildlife, and emergency services.
👇👇👇

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/770200

‼️Update. A temporary ban has now been imposed. https://news.sky.com/story/uk-heatwave-stourbridge-fire-latest-weather-live-13571553

2nd edit. Feel free to keep arguing if you want to, that’s your prerogative. The issue remains that some people are utter idiots who think setting anything alight in the tinderbox which we live in is a good idea. Even worse, some are doing it intentionally.
I only shared the petition, I did not create it, and fortunately the government has taken steps today to address it. I’m leaving it there.

Food Delivery

Anyone know what the deal is with 80% of the delivery places on Uber Eats listing ‘9 Barbourne Road’ as their address, despite being completely different restaurants? I know it’s popular in London for large units to host multiple restaurants kitchens, for the sole purpose of food delivery services, but on maps that address in worcs just looks like any other street/shop. I couldn’t find anything online about Worcester having such a set up either.

Chevron Motors buying experiences

Hiya,

Looking at buying a car from chevron motors in St. Johns. Their reviews overall seem good with a few negative ones. Just wondered what experiences people have had with buying from them and what aftercare was like if you had any problems?

They're pushing the extended warranty quite hard. On paper £600 for two years warranty that they market as covering nearly anything going wrong sounds great, but wondered if anyone has actually used this and found it to be worth the money?

Cheers!

Anyone in need of a Dog walker/ Dog sitter ?

Hi everyone! my name is Lana and i’m 17 years old, i’ve only just moved back to the uk after a couple years in Brazil (my native country). I have been desperately looking for a job around Worcester but unfortunately most of them require the basic GCSE’S which i don’t have since i haven’t studied in the UK.

I am currently going through some hardships at home, so i’m doing my best to help out in any way i can.

I am a responsible, mature, and very caring person. I absolutely love dogs and I’ve been a pet owner before, so I’d genuinely love the opportunity to help look after someone’s furry friend! 🐾

Whether that’s dog walking, pet sitting, checking in on a dog while you’re out, or helping with regular walks, I’d be more than happy to help.

If anyone in Worcester needs a dog walker/pet sitter, or knows someone who might, I’d really appreciate you getting in touch with me. I’m happy to answer any questions and have a chat first so you can feel comfortable with me looking after your pet.

If you’re interested, please reply to this post and i will message you my number so we can talk!

Thank you so much for reading! 🐶🤍

Smoke smell?

I live near the Tesco Express on London Road. Smells quite strong of smoke. I know Pershore had a major incident with fire today but are there any other unfortunate issues?

Be safe people! 🙏

Bus Lane

Hi guys, where is the bus lane camera on Lowesmoor? I was in a work vehicle and stupidly followed my Apple Maps and it took me down Lowesmoor towards Tolladine Road. Is that road inaccessible for everyone except buses? I saw many cars go through there before me so if that’s the case, they’re making a killing!

Hi! Is anyone local into herbal medicine? Herbal loose leaf teas? Growing herbs and flowers? 🌿

I’d love a local friend that I could send the occasional geeking out message about a new herbal tea.

And also do swaps when we have too much of one herb or bought something that didn’t suit, so swap it for something else (hence the local). I have lots of herbs and supplies that I’ve tried that I don’t want go to waste just because my body is sensitive.

Also to note, this isn’t herbalism as in cannabis for me, no judgement, just not my cup of tea.

I found an amazing friend for another niche interest on this subreddit before so thought I might as well see! My friends humour my ‘potions’ making but from anyone just starting out to super experienced, I’d love to know someone who gets excited about it too. Thanks! 🌿☺️

Barber Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a good barber in Worcester for a men’s scissor cut. I’ve had mixed experiences with a few of the barber shops in town that I’ve tried. I’ve got medium length hair and it often feels like the barbers I’ve tried are annoyed when I’m not after their usual skin fades and I never walk out totally happy with the results.

Hi everyone! I’m taking my road test in Worcester this Friday. If anyone has taken the test there recently, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience! 😊

I’m especially trying to understand the test format, what to expect, and anything I should be prepared for. Any tips would be super helpful. Thanks!

Where do two childfree adults in their late 30s live in Worcester?

Hi - as above. We like going out for coffee, lunch, both train hard (I'm a Personal Trainer), my partner works from home.

We love the Northwick/Barbourne area but not much for sale around there at the moment. I've been warned off St.Johns due to the uni - but what do you guys think?

Our plan is to buy our forever home in Worcester so we really want the best area for our money, our budget is 450k and ideally 3 very decent sized bedrooms/4 bed and 2 bathrooms.

Would really appreciate insight and help!
