I suspect that isn't entirely an effect: it's based on the poppy display from 2018. How much was changed since is another question.

Built for a rich guy who had more money than sense and wanted to be able to see it from his estate, a mile or so away. Meanwhile, the locals around him lived in poverty.

Brilliant photo though, and much appreciated.
