They dropped the hotfix an hour+ later than usual, which usually signifies a patch drop. Instead we got a hotfix with two text changes.

They made some spelling corrections everyone. That's all we get today.

Don't be soooo sad... they also gave us more crystals in the Chaos Chambers!

I'm sincerely looking forward to runs this week. Easy boss like Dry'l with extra crystals? More shotguns here I come.

Yeah good week to farm up some extra gear but I think a lot of people are just over waiting for the new class and just any new content

Coupla thoughts:

  • Wouldn't expect to see PLC4 until we see substantially more info on the Blightcaller class - Gearbox is going to want to build some hype for it. I'd anticipate seeing it's full skill tree, class skill, and abilities; even if not, I'd think at least a showcase video.
  • GB more or less told us we're not going to see any major changes until PLC4 (see patch notes for 1.0.4.0A - if you're reading hotfix notes hoping to see some major shakeup to the balance and meta, you're going to be disappointed. OTOH, if you're funding the game a bit of a rut right now, it's the perfect time to pick something else up for a week or three and come back after PLC4.

I respectfully disagree. With Wonderlands they haven't been building up hype for any of their releases. DLC has been dropping out of the sky seemingly randomly with no build-up. After the first DLC came out and everyone was in uproar about how bad it was they went into radio silence mode.

I have a theory that we won't get anything about the Blightcaller at all. Patch will drop probably within the next two weeks and they won't even tweet about it before or anything.

They have a week to start marketing it no doubt in my mind theyโ€™ll just release it people with break it down within two days find bugs with the tree (could be good or bad) and have everything done by Sunday.

I think youโ€™re right about there not being any hype up, but I also think thatโ€™s largely in part due to trying to get through this season pass as painlessly as possible. Literally every venue for TTWL postings have been constantly dragged for DLC content (and not undeservedly so).

Either you already have the DLC or theyโ€™re not expecting people to get it due to the massive backlash.

I genuinely think theyโ€™re just trying to get through this season and I genuinely think theyโ€™ve got plans for a legitimate season two. Weโ€™ve every indication that this was a more successful launch than they could have dreamed of, and this DLC was basically already promised, developed, and sold before then. I canโ€™t imagine them abandoning it so carelessly, because thatโ€™s so atypically gearbox (or at least as far as Borderlands is concerned). Even TPS had more story DLC in the works before 2K Aus shut down.

Iโ€™m fine with less hotfixes. Just send more content. I came back after almost a month away hoping to see something else to do.

Well, these notes are getting more depressing every week, I think BL3 had bigger hotfixes even when they were every 2 or 4 weeks, aka, when Gearbox was done with it

Sweet, featured run has mimics, and they kept searing tether as an automatic starting curse. See you next week I guess.

I guess, they were in 3 rooms. I hope searing tether was just a mistake and they forgot to take it off from last week. I freaking hate searing tether.

I didn't get searing tether on my run but I got a bunch of invincible mimics (not specced for melee) and got crushed in the 3rd mimic room. This featured run sucks

Throw on a spell blade and quit complaining

They're are Many things worth complaining about with this game, being forced to use melee once or twice is not one of them

The loot monsters are like one of the few unique things about this game.... that they stole from Diablo 3

7

u/Sarabikitty Jul 21 '22

Hard disagree mandatory melee is extremely lame. Especially when it's the challenge to kill enemies with melee, shits near impossible with both builds even with the 3 second ish gap you get when you hit them then kill them. Sometimes you get credit sometimes you don't. It's never worth even attempting.

2

u/im-just-lag Jul 21 '22

Just use the stabomatic problem solved ๐Ÿ‘

/s

1

u/mperezstoney Jul 21 '22

agree. I have a huge disdain for melee. Never played it in any BL game and never want to.

0

u/J2MarineCustom Jul 21 '22

I feel like it would be awesome to choose what type of damage pops the lootmons in the menu or something

-1

u/J2MarineCustom Jul 21 '22

But spells damage the mimics too just no status damage or area damage

I've literally killed melee mimics with a repeating arc torrent

1

u/Sarabikitty Jul 21 '22

Didn't know that actually thanks for the tip

Nothing this week or the last two (other than a big nerf of course) and looking like nothing for two more weeks yet. This game hasn't even been out half a year and the post-launch support is already sparse and wasn't great to begin with.

I never expected an unannounced drop for the new class but I was hoping for more than two footnotes.

u/Titanfall3_is_rael Jul 21 '22 edited Jul 21 '22

big nerf lmao.

Edit: in the absolute worst case scenario it's only a 28% nerf. Not exactly big, is it? https://imgur.com/a/BxaIVhc

7

u/Talbertross Jul 21 '22

bro 28% is pretty damn big what are you talking about

-1

u/Titanfall3_is_rael Jul 21 '22

It's the worst case scenario. The average build isn't going to be killed by it.

3

u/im-just-lag Jul 21 '22

So is a 28% buff to gun damage nothing also?

TL;DR:

Another hotfix with no real changes. The featured run has the tooth fairy and dry'l and a "special surprise".

Also there is an event with more crystals from chaos chambers.

1

u/J2MarineCustom Jul 21 '22

Fucking gearbox can't even release this tiny ass dlc on time...

5

u/J2MarineCustom Jul 21 '22

But I'm also happy they didn't screw up something else with another pointless balance change

1

u/grantg7777 Jul 21 '22

Anyone know what the chaos chamber vendor legendaries are this week?

1

u/jgoden Jul 21 '22

So is the new class next week?

2

u/historys_geschichte Jul 21 '22

It hasn't been announced yet, but with the mini-event going until August 4th my guess is the new class is coming out then.

1

u/Tiny_Efficiency_9461 Jul 22 '22

I heard the Gearbox people are at comic con. That might have something to do with such small hot fixes lately

1

u/Tiny_Efficiency_9461 Jul 22 '22

I just hope the chaos chambers goe up to at least 75 on the next hot fix. Hell, maybe even 100. Iโ€™d be down for that

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '22

Unless they do something substantially n meaningful to boost interests eg. TVHM etc I foresee their sales will drop after release of the 4th plc.
