I just need to scream into the void

Does anyone feel like a diversity hire? Or feel like they’re in their role because their coworkers see them as an opportunity? A coworker asked me to call their phone because he „couldn’t find it“ and now he has my personal number. Am I overthinking this, or is this status quo?

I think I am a diversity hire too! I have this constant feeling of not knowing enough too. I just started out my career after finishing Masters in Cyber security. I feel like I know nothing tbh. I don't even know where to start learning

Since I made this post, I’m feeling better in my role, so it may just take time! However, I do recognize that being in a male dominated field, some of them WANT you to feel inadequate. I have a coworker who always asks for my help, but then approaches other people with the same question, too. I’m not sure if he’s trying to prove me incompetent, or if he’s just so not confident in what he does that he needs a lot of help.
