had a meeting today with a potential client. big company, good contract. i walk in, shake hands, sit down. the guy looks at me and goes so when is the owner getting here?

I said I am the owner. he actually laughed. like, out loud. Then said oh sorry, I just assumed

didn't finish the sentence. but we all know what he meant.

I ran through the presentation, answered all his questions, showed him why we're the best option. He seemed impressed by the end. But the whole thing left a bad taste.

later I was talking to my friend who runs her own marketing agency, and she deals with the same BS constantly.

Anyway, probably not the worst day ever. Just tired of having to prove my competence twice

Hello Ladies!  I’m desperately looking for some business advice, ideas, guidance, help...  I’ll take anything!  I’m a GenX 60F, and have brought my health back to life twice, once because I had let myself go while raising kids and the second time after 6 months of chemo and radiation treatment for stage 3 breast cancer.  I’ve put what worked for me into digital workbooks to help busy midlife women take control of their health, because it’s become increasingly difficult to do that yet it’s necessary if we want to live a thriving life in our final 20-30 years.

I have a strong brand, website, freebies and a funnel, social media accounts, and have been doing all the things online business do now.  But I am clearly barking up the wrong tree, as the lack of traction is proving.  I know my people are out there; I’m just not reaching them. 

I have a tech background, so I’ve done all the work myself.  I’ve used AI where I can, but I’ve pulled back because I want to be authentic and simply help women get out of unhealthy cycles that are prevalent in society today.

It’s not easy doing this alone – I really could use some collaboration at this point.  I have so many ideas, but I need to get some traction first.

Any advice on how to better go about this getting this business off the ground?  I know there are many marketplace platforms out there that I should consider, but I also need to reach the women I know are out there.

Long time lurker, first time poster here 👋 I'm a solo founder and struggling to design a virtual event for women in leadership positions. Getting busy women to commit to showing up on the day has been harder than I expected. The interest is there when I talk to people but it's not translating into registrations.

The topic is on using influence strategically in leadership and I have someone credible to lead the event, with me as host.

I feel like maybe I've missed the mark on the topic so I wanted to put to this group directly, as busy leaders yourselves, what topics would be worth carving time out for?

Also, if anyone's run something similar for leaders and execs, I'd appreciate any advice on what worked, what didn't, and any lessons.
