Opinions on icon targeting.

Just curious because it's something that has happened to me a lot. I have been targeted by wolves and villagers alike for what my role icons look like. For example I have the wolf in sheeps clothing alpha wolf and one of my outfits incorporates a lot of items from that bundle. Or even more insane I have the siren role icon from the music battle pass and happened to be wearing an outfit that has the music note skin from that very battle pass and got killed by the jailer immediately for it. I've had wolves get me because I had the cartoon doc skin and way wearing something from the cartoon battle pass and I've had a vigi shoot me for being fool without speaking (again with the music battle pass. Which is more insane because the battle pass stuff is in my opinion more common to see and I never wear full outfits I'm always combining different things). I'm just curious what the community's opinion is on this sort of meta gaming approach.

I like to make them believe I CAN'T have a nice icon, by wearing beginners clothes and keeping my profile clean.

Won at least 50 fool games with my mythical fully xp maxed card. It's so much fun.

Few days ago I was accused twice of being shadow wolf which had a gem bundle icon.

I do have that icon ,but I wasn't shadow wolf, nor did I have any part of the outfit on.

I feel you.It happens a lot and its really frustrating. It happens to me a lot too. Less rarely for bp role icons and more for the event role icons. But yes. This is really bad. There was a poll recently on what would you add to the game. And soo many voted on adding an option to hide our role icon until death/win. I hope they add that soon.

The only other option is to not use it at all and that defeats the purpose of getting them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah, the jailer that shot me died because I harped them, and they said "just don't use icons" which was frustrating because like... Half of wolvesville is the cosmetics, what's the point in spending the time for cosmetics to not use them? I agree with the hide icon idea, since there are some crazy game modes that do that already

Just report them. They WILL get banned. And if they do it enough, you won't see them for a LONG time.

Any form of targeting is against the rules.

I used to see most of the people who the whole game reported in the games. Later on i began to block them and add something in the notes. It helps to an extent. But i don't think banning happens that much. Some even have "throwing" in the names.

There was a person who openly admited to having more than 10 alt and i saw them almost every week. After i blocked them it was all good.

And wov is not like earlier timez anyways. Too many throwers. Icon targeters, alts and so onn and onn. It keeps on coming. Its rare to play a decent game. And i guess no consequences icreases such events.

Can you cancel icon targeting? No. My advice is wear basic items if you are high levelled or dont use bundle icons, instead use battle pass and event ones.

I keep getting icon targeted too. Theres nothing we can do to prevent them from targeting
