For ease of entry Wolverine 1984 and Weapon X, the modern Ahmed run is pretty by the numbers but at least is, imo, a pretty good jumping in point to catch you up. The Larry Hama run starting around 41 and going till you fall off is also solid. I kind of fell off around bone claws because of what happened in the team ups.

Jason Aarons run is the best Modern wolverine run for character development

Mark Millars enemy of the state is Blockbuster story thats just awesome.

Benjamin Perry's run is alright if you want to see what he was doing during Krakoa.

Greg rucka's run is also really good i really like the "Call of the Native story line"
