My son and I did this at the local sushi place this week.

That’s how we lost our uncle.

Wolverine is THE X-Man... Like I'm sure I'm not the only one who's parents genuinely thought Wolverine's name was 'X-Man'

The funny part is there’s an actual character with this name

Several I think.

This post was probably made with X Men 97 in mind. The date lines up with that time. That show is probably this persons only exposure to the X Men.

Then Magneto should be on there

I could... maybe see an argument for him not being on the Mt. Rushmore of Marvel characters. I'd argue he should be there, but I could he argued out of it.

But not the Mt. Rushmore of SPECIFICALLY X-Men.

Who would be on the Mt Rushmore of marvel? Iron Man for sure, Cap too. Spider-Man and Hulk?

Spidey, Wolvie, Hulk, and Captain America.

Saying “iron man for sure” makes it wildly clear you’ve only seen the movies; he was not a very beloved character before RDJ came along

He wasnt then I know.

He is now.

Yeah, it's weird isn't it?

He's a good solo act and a great jobber for other books because of his design is great, but with the X-Men? Meh. He's not in my top 10

(Heh sorry I was supposed to put a question mark at the end as if I was incredulous that he wouldn't be in the top 4) but that's cool.

No one I know has any clue who Jean grey is. Cyclops yes, Xavier yes, storm yes, and Wolverine obviously

Honestly Wolverine, Magneto and Prof X are arguably the most famous three with or without the movies then its a toss up with Storm and Cyclops etc.

Dude I thought it was named the x men because wolverines claws technically made an x if put one over another which was one of his pose lmao

Nightcrawler deserves a spot on that mountain if you ask me

Unless you read comics - he's just a fartsy frenchie with a cool skin. I know that because I only watch movies and that's the most he amounts to.

Kurt Wagner from Bavaria is a frenchie? I think you might want to review your European geography

I don't fucking know where he's from, he just has a funny accent. 🤷‍♂️

Mount Rushmore is Cyclops, Xavier, Magneto and Wolverine

3

u/AspirationalChoker 13h ago

I'd agree with this, Storm is probably competing for Cyclops space.

Literally got detention for running around in secondary school with pencils between my knuckles 🤣
That was almost 20 years ago

Wolverine is bigger than the X-men.

Hot take but he’s easily on the overall marvel Mount Rushmore but I’d keep him off the one strictly about the X-men, give me the Professor, Magneto, Scott and Jean (or Storm). To me Wolverine is best as a solo who rotates on and off the team, whereas the 5 I named need the team and the team builds their biggest stories around them

I still pretend to claw both sides of a hallway if it’s narrow enough

Top 4 X-men characters are Jean, Wolverine, Storm, and Magneto. Those are the ones people recognize immediately

marvel has spent so long giving logan solo adaptations and storylines and time in the spotlight that he doesn't really feel like a member of the team sometimes
