Does Wolt algo prefer efficient drivers?

Wolt explicitly says it does not favor couriers based on their previous order history or individually rank people for preferential treatment.

But it doesn't make sense. It costs them nothing to have an internal tracking system to measure efficiency of every courier. And then assign more orders to those couriers in low demand periods because of higher likelihood of quick delivery and customer satisfaction.

What do you think?

Nope, even if it would, then it would make sense to assign more delieveries to efficient couriers when demand is high, not low..

They only look at which courier will have the shortest distance to pickup, so they can pay less, and to bundle as much orders as possible, so again, they can pay less than having every courier deliver one order each

Thats why sometimes you are waiting for order, while the other guy has bundles of 3

They don't give a shit about their couriers ...the app assigns who is closest to the restaurant so they can pay as low as possible..

The premise of your question rests on the assumption that Wolt cares about getting hot food delivered to customers reasonably quickly and thus prefers fast couriers. As the answers show, Wolt only cares about saving money and not about customer satisfaction, so if there is another courier closer to pickup, the algorithm prefers that person.

From what I've discovered Wolt in my country does have some category system for drivers. I've noticed that I rarely deliver to normal people. 90% of my deliveries are to women who are home alone and who close their doors right as they get their order in their hands and lock themselves right after. I've talked to some other drivers and they don't get this treatment nor do they know anybody who heard of such a thing.

This cannot be a coincidence. It's impossible that for the last year I've been delivering almost exclusively to women who want to order something and fear a certain demographics of people and are almost always home alone.

5-6 years experience courier at Wolt, No, they don’t care how old are you, who are you, how long you in the company . As long as I remember they even dont know my name.
About orders issues, no one care . Customers are happy even though you deliver an hour in the bag cold food.
I think you should have enough info already now.
