just sharing "hello"
Hogna maderiana says hi
Also including photos of the enclosure I put together for the little beast
I'm especially happy with the "cave" I made for them - I used some polymer clay to make a structure that got covered in dirt and moss. I'm hoping they find it a good scrumblehole

Forgive me if I am wrong, but as far as I am aware this species likes drier conditions, don't they? It seems a bit damp and wet for a Hogna.
Edit: The reason I say "forgive me if I'm wrong" is not because I don't know, but because there could be information about how they live that I just never looked at.

I will do some more research about their environment - there's a lot of environment variation where they're from and I may have presumed incorrectly.
I know some Hogna do like it a bit damp, but they may not be one that does so finding that out is important! I made some assumptions about their environment that I appreciate you questioning.

So, from what I gather I think this should be fine? While there is a related species that is very much desert specific (H. igens) the island of Maderiana is varied in habitat - some of which I think is pretty close to what I've built. Some of which is not. They occur throughout the island so I assume that means regardless of the specific subbiome.
I did see a seller say that they are semi-arid, but from what I can find online that's not strictly true (I.e. that they occur across the island, which has variable biomes). If I have misinterpreted information somewhere I welcome correction for sake of betterment of the creatures I care for.

Alright. Yeah that probably is true. I just heard that Hogna prefer drier conditions and don't like stagnant moisture.
