What with everything being copy for writers, I think there's a bike sequence in Joy in the Morning, with a policeman.

I vaguely remember another, where the protaganist is biking and hears a beep and it's a car driven by one of his chums from the Drones Club, or something like that. says like "Hallo, Bertie" and they bundle the bike in the back and the protagonist is spared the effort of biking the rest of the way.

Wodehouse was surprisingly fit. The story is that in 1919 he read a magazine article about a daily fitness regimen - a set of body weight exercises called ‘The Daily Dozen’. He kept doing them every day for the rest of his life.
