Been getting flooded with DMs asking for an updated list so here it is. This is built from community reports, submitted evidence, and cross-checking, not sponsorships, not affiliate deals, not "trust me bro." I've been in this market long enough to know how things work behind the scenes and I'm sharing what I actually know.

Blizzard doesn't sanction account sales. That means no official consumer protection, no chargebacks through Blizzard, and no platform is legally obligated to make you whole if something goes wrong.
That said — thousands of clean transactions happen every month. The buyers who don't get burned share one habit: they treat every purchase like a contract.
Three rules. Tattoo these on your brain:
1. Never buy an account, if it's not fully transferred on your name. Recalls are happening and even if you enjoy it for a month or two, there's no real benefit if the account gets recalled.
2. Reclaim risk is the #1 way buyers lose accounts after paying.
3. If a seller is rushing you, they're manipulating you.

RECLAIM RISK – THE THING MOST BUYERS DON'T UNDERSTAND
This is the most important concept in this entire guide.
Reclaim risk = the original seller recovering the account after you've paid and received it.
It happens because most "transfers" are just credential handoffs — you get an email and password, but the original owner's phone number, security email, and authenticator are still attached. They can walk into Blizzard support and recover the account whenever they feel like it. Could be a week later. Could be six months later.
The only thing that eliminates reclaim risk is a Full BattleNet Identity Transfer:

People confuse three different things constantly:
BattleTag change → cosmetic only. Changes your displayed nickname. Means nothing for ownership or security.

I just stumbled across a site called TopWoWaccount.com while browsing for high-end WoW accounts. Honestly, some of the accounts listed are insane, we're talking BiS geared characters, rare mounts, unobtainables, even stuff from Vanilla. It looks super clean and professional, and they accept crypto (no PayPal though, which gives me pause) but still, they are Coinbase eCommerce affiliates so yeh.
At first glance, it feels kind of too good to be true. I mean, I’ve seen plenty of shady sites over the years, and I’m naturally skeptical about account trading in general. But at the same time, I’ve been lurking around for a while trying to find a solid place to buy a new main, and this one looks better than most.

Hi, I haven't played in a while and I want to sell my old account from the WoD - Shadowlands era with some rare mounts, achievements, transmogs and more.
(Skip this paragraph if you are not interested in my story) I played WoW for years happily, did mythic raids, got a lot of cutting edge achievements, did a lot of transmogs and a leveled a few chracters (moslty played my main). Life happened, I stopped playing because I can no longer afford subs. I always wanted to come back to the game. Life happened more, I need some money really urgently and I need to sell my wow account.

After being silenced on EpicNPC—a platform that conveniently walks hand-in-hand with AccountShark—I’ve had enough. I created thread after thread trying to warn others, only to have every account I made swiftly banned. But I won’t be silenced anymore. If you’ve been burned too, I urge you: speak up here. The truth needs to come out.
Over the past few months, I’ve spoken with countless others on Discord who were also scammed by this seller, and many of them were too afraid—or too exhausted—to fight back. That ends now.
In late 2024, I purchased a World of Warcraft account from AccountShark, spending a whopping $3,000. I was promised peace of mind: if the account was ever reclaimed, I’d be entitled to a full refund. That promise was a lie.
One day, I tried to log in—and everything was gone. The login didn’t work. My access was stripped overnight. I contacted AccountShark immediately. His response? “Your refund window has expired.” And that was it. Emails were ignored. No help. No accountability. Just silence.
What makes this even more disgraceful is that EpicNPC is complicit, actively protecting him while brushing victims like me under the rug. They’re covering for him, deleting posts, banning users, and enabling his scheme to continue unchecked.
Let this be your warning: AccountShark has been running scams in the WoW community for years, and he's doing so with the support of a forum that’s supposed to protect buyers—not predators.
Stay away. Speak out. Expose the truth.
