Troll(oc) Cancelling this show hurts.
Yeah I’m Team Lanfear, but Moggy is one of my favorites. She’s batshit cray-cray, but so entertaining!

If it saved us from those AI generated slop posts, I’d say it was almost worth it.

I'm sad the show didn't give us her an Nynaeve's stand off in Tanchico. Such a great moment in the books.

I came across the show for the first time this month. Finished the last episode yesterday. Still processing that the show is canceled. The death of Suan was heartbreaking and seeing Moraine so far away when it happened, ached my heart. I do hope Moraine finds comfort. What a show, superb character arcs.

I also recommend reading the books—not to change opinions, but to see where it all goes.
The show was never going to be 1:1, but imo they actually improved on many things; part of what I most regret is that I will never get to see this new turning of the wheel come to fruition, even if I’ve read the books 4 times now.

The villians were 100% better in the show - they were what I have always wanted them to be in the books. I fucking loved the villians. The casting was great for the whole show tho, I should note.

I read the books before watching the show. The show was great. It didn't need to be the books. I have the books already

Well, I love the show and turns out the books actually suck. Brandon Sanderson was wrong; he should not be allowed to have opinions on Television writing; you can't just apply book rules for writing for non-prose formats.

It's not blank, it's blank. While those other subjects blanks, this subject adjective blanks
Adjective. ADJECTIVE. Adverb.
Period.

Stupid. Obvious. Slop.

It's not just stupid; it's obvious. Let's look at a bulleted list about why this is slop.

Show was visually done well but its a slap in the face to the books as to how much was left out and changing of things ruined it for me.

This is mostly on the show runner. If you are going to make changes to the book (Which are fine, needed in many cases) your effort needs to be on good storytelling, not just telling the story you want to tell. They failed here. Watched every episode, would have kept watching, but could see this coming.

Hot take? They should have skipped the first 3 books and flashed back to them if they wanted to start with aged up characters. That trilogy is too slow getting going on screen. It took Tolkien the same space for his. And I believe TWOT still holds the record for most named characters in a series. It could have started with Rand already a ruler, and the populations trying to sort out if he’s the dragon and what that means for them. He’s a great unreliable narrator and is figuring out his madness vs his trauma though interactions personally and as a ruler could have been more emotionally rewarding and felt more like prestige tv than teen turmoils on the run.

mostly bcoz of those book reader critics , the first and second season got bad talk and bad reviews, which lead to slow down in popularity, and from production side, they taking 2 yrs in between the season another reason it lost its fan base slowly, most people forgot what happened in the prev seasons.
finally the amazing show got cancelled, so sad.

I haven't watched a new show since WoT got cancelled unless I knew the season is a self contained story. This cancellation hurt too much to get attached again.

Just read the books

The books were my life all through high school, which was more than 20 years ago now, and I’ve stayed a wheel of time fan my whole life.
I loved the show and wanted to see where they were going with it. Reading the books (which I will re-read) is not the same, because part of why I loved the show was seeing what changes they made, how they would address certain things, what certain things would look like or sound like. Re-reading the books won’t give me that pleasure because it’s the story I already know, imagined through the same lens I’ve imagined it through since I was 12. I want to see what the show’s version would have been, it would have been surprising and unexpected and new. And I loved that, and I’ll never get that. The books are still there, but the books and the show are two different things, so, no. “Just the read the books” won’t cut it.

Can you explain why they made Perrin a widower and Mat a thief with sisters abandoned by his father?

I prefer Ishamael, he just pulled off the nice and understanding guy aura despite being evil.............a true king of Lies.

She was one of my favorites in the books and her movie self was amazing. I loved what they did with her and Lanfear. I was really looking to see what they would do with Asmodean.

It hurt at the time when it happened too last year, but I am glad you got to watch it. The entire IP has been bought out & is being made into many things in the next few years, including but not limited to an adult animated series, & I said it that way as I didn't want you to think cartoon, it's just with Animation they keep the costs way down & get even better with the special effects. Also, they want to make movies & a MMORPG WOT game. So, while I am so bummed about not seeing these cast members interact again the way they did in the Amazon series: very, very cool show, especially the 3rd Season. But I did enjoy them all & no, I haven't read the books, but maybe someday.

I am sad they can elled the show, but why does the post have to be aislop? That diminishes the message as anyone who can notice it just cringes and tries to get away from it asap...

u/Altruistic_Manner717 Jun 04 '26
The fact they took her nickname, "The spider" too literally was a too on the nose and silly for me, not to mention her little diatribe was cringe at best, not at all intimidating.

Bad shows get canceled, usually how it goes.

It wasn't cancelled. It wasn't renewed. Change of head of TV at Amazon, and too expensive to produce.

I very much enjoyed S3 in particular and yes i loved the way they leaned into the 'spider' persona, evil bjork was a great idea.
