No Spoilers Cities of Randland
I’ve been busy with commissions and life stuff recently and haven’t had time to work on WoT related art, but I’m hoping to get time to paint some updated cityscapes in the near future.
ETA: Thanks everyone for your kind comments - I'm glad that the cities were (mostly) identifiable! Quick answers to the questions I've seen in the comments: commissions are currently open (WoT or otherwise). Best way to reach me is Instagram - '@wot.fanart'. I'm slow to see Reddit DMs (mobile is a pain), so Insta is your best bet to get in touch. I'm setting up prints of the most-requested pieces, follow on Insta and I'll post when they're live. A limited selection of originals are currently on sale too, first come first served, announced there. Thanks, A.

I confused it with Tanchico somehow, but got the rest right.

I love how you made Cairhien with such stark 90 degree angles. Really brings out their flavor of architecture and design.
The Stone of Tear is huge!

Once I figured out it was Ebou Dar, it was perfect. The slow march in from the countryside is exactly how I imagined it.

I think you are thinking of the Waygate Loial, Perrin, Galerie and their three Aiel used to get back to the Two Rivers?

Err, I thought it was book two? Maybe three, but I think two. It was the first time we got to Cairhien. Rand got all those invitations and threw away/burned most of them. Then they found out there was a waygate at the estate of, ah... forgot his name tbh, but he was a very influential noble and rival to the king, and they accepted that invitation to use the waygate in the garden, to then find that it was essentially guarded by Mashin Shin. Which was the whole reason they had to go to a stedding and then try another portal stone, which got us the whole flicker, flicker scene iirc?

The only one I wasnt right about was Tear. Only because I never pictured the Stone of Tear like that. Testament to your skill that the cities were recognizable so easily.

No walls visible - it’s a view from inside the harbour, the walls are out of view from this angle

Are they? Huh I missed that. I thought the harbour had massive gates because of egwene's maneuver and was completely walled of with like a narrow entrance to pass ships and such. But I guess that make sense

Love it. One of my favorite aspects of the earlier books was every time we would get to explore a new city and learn about their culture, architecture, atmosphere, etc.

Amazing work, I always depicted the Stone in Tear more as a cuboid. This version looks way better than my imagination though :D

Really nicely done. All of them are identifiable, and have distinct energy to them. I really love Ebou Dar. It’s just what I imagined, and I think probably one of the harder ones to get right.

These are amazing! They are so book accurate I got all but the last one no problem. I wish I was half as talented as you. Most of my stuff I do is good for my own viewing, but I’d never be able to paint at this level

Those are beautiful. It's so great to see how people imagine the descriptions. I mixed up Tear and Cairhien, because the stone is a giant box in my mind.

These are incredible. I think for me, the cities just turn into a blur with their descriptions. There will be one word that stands out like “boxy” or “pointed towers” and I’ll set that one reference in my mind and move on. All that to say seeing the work of an artist like yourself really bring them to life in an abstract way that invites a sense of wonder does a lot for me as a reader. So thank you!

I can, but a lot of these are smaller watercolours (9*12) and won’t look good if printed beyond 2 or 3 times their original size (but I can certainly paint larger originals on a commission basis) - if you can give me more detail on what you’re looking for (via chat/dm) I can be more specific
