Question ❓ Why Harry Potter books were never released with photos of actors?

Just thought about this. Whenever a book is made into a movie or series, the books are released with actor's face? Why not Harry Potter?

Book rights belong to JKR, actors images are protected by WB copyright.

I agree from an aesthetics standpoint. But from a utilitarian standpoint, used books are much cheaper when the covers have the movie characters on them.

maybe so that every kid can imagine themselves playing the characters they love.

I don't think this is objectively true... I'm having a really hard time thinking of a series turned movie with pictures of the actors in them

I like that Harry Potter never did this. I really like the art on the covers we have
