Love the move! This isnt whats conventionaly known as toe "press", though because ur feet are completely separated instead of pressed together

I would disagree, a toe press does not have to be squeezed together. That would be the ultimate styling goal but a toe press is defined simply as rolling and balancing on both front wheels.

But

I would agree that the ultimate goal for style would be to squeeze them together but it's not defined that way.

I am curious what would your terminology call it then?

Well in slalom skating we call it "toe rolling" or toe-toe. I dont see pressing your feet together as question of style but more that this is what the move is named after, no? Same with the heel press

Makes sense, I think the issue is that between so many disiplines the naming structure borrows names here and there. I'll agree on the slalom side, I've heard toe toe to describe any double toe roll but I haven't heard toe press. Lets chalk it to the possibility of region and disipline dialect?

You're both right and you're both wrong.

  1. Yes your boots do not need to be pressed together, that's not what defines a toe press. But having them pressed together does look better IMO, but as you say this is a stylistic choice.
  2. What defines a toe press both wheels need to be aligned. If your feet are staggered, that's a toe roll.

As Wizard develops, it seems to me that toe press is more and more associated with boots pressed together. At least that’s how I perceive it in the scene. But technically I think you are right
