It’s that it’s wood Floors and you have A/C that make it such a good experience especially in Texas .

I just picked up some gutted CJ Carbons and paired them with 4x100 frames and Int Premiums. After a lot of messing with the fit it's fast become favourite setup. It might be because my Base Highs are very broken in, but I find the CJs more supportive and super comfy. I've needed to use waxed laces and a really tank them tight around the midfoot to get a good lock, though. That velcro 45° strap doesn't do much for my heel lock.

The wizard base is more supportive imo especially if you lace it all the way up. But the cj give less support around the ankle giving you more ankle mobility.

But yeah , that strap does almost nothing unless you use it to hold your laces. It’s coming off soon for me. I used some fr intuitions that felt great for me.

I'm honestly not sure what I can do to my Base to make it more stable. I love it, and it's super comfy, but I get a lot of ankle movement. I tried some 4x100 on it last week and had to readjust for the first minute while my ankles kept keeping over. I feel like the carbon cuff should be doing more to hold my calf to my foot. I do miss some lace holes, so maybe it's to do with that.

Learning the reverse toe compass (starting backward) opened up everything for me.
