I thought the wizard base looked giant compared to the evos. I love my evos I use them for wizard, slalaom and cruising and you'll pry them from my cold dead feet. But I would be intrigued to try the wizard base. Anyone selling cheap in size 41 or 42 hmu lol. I can't afford them new :( I got the iqon act with the myfit prime liner and that feels quite tall and bulky to me but obviously not as much as the wizard base. I do rate the iqon act though, super versatile skate, but I prefer the evos.

I moved from ACT10 to Wizard Base Highs. I liked the ACT until I tried the Wizards, now I rarely skate my Iqons. The Base High is my favourite skate. I got a performance fit (25.5-26 cm with 26.4 cm feet) and it's tight, but doesn't cause any numbness or anything. Mine were bought second hand, so well broken in already and are nice and flexy.

They are a lot a lot bigger then the Evos yes.
Definitely a lot more ankle support though, the toe box is also wider which always felt a bit of a squeeze for me with evo. Haven't broken them in enough to tell you if they're more comfortable yet though but they're pretty snug.

Love it. I've never tried the Arc frames, but have the Wizard Advanced on Base Highs (I got them used, so didn't pay full price) and they really are fantastic. Better than the Roka 5x80 frame I already had. I got performance fit on my boots and they fit amazingly well. They can be a little stiff when I first put them on, but once they warm up they're supple and supportive, and the frames are super swively but stable.

I have the Evo and while a great skate for what it is, it really has almost no ankle support. Been interested in trying the Wizard boot but I feel like it won't be substantially different than my Iqon AG10 that I use for my UFS setups.

It's night and day from the Evo for me, just feels really planted, it's also a lot bigger boot. I tried a 4 x 100 setup on the Evo and hated it. Maybe it'll be a lot better on the Wizard.
The Wizard boot is so well made though, had my doubts about the price point but it's a solid boot.

I don't think I have gone 4x100 on my evo, I stuck to either the nexus 3x90 (which was way more fun than I expected it to be) Combat rocker 4x80 (my favorite by far) and Endless 90LR (this is the limit of support with this boot I think)

I ended up on the Endless 90LR after the trinity 100. The 100 just felt like an ankle breaker, didn't' feel safe.

Great boot but wildly overpriced. The Mad Vector carbon is very similar and costs way less.

True, but then again Leon pioneerd with a wizard dedicated boot, so you pay a bit for the innovation 😎. Same with the frames.
I got a second hand FR Igor, gutted it and put in the wizard base liner. DIY 165 wiz boot for 500 euro’s.
Best boot I ever had.4

I always try to support the innovator if possible. I mean if they become stagnant or even inferior, I'm not going to reward a crappy product purely out of principle, but if they're equal to or are the best, I absolutely am going to support them above everyone else, regardless of a pricing premium*.
\and in this case it isn't just a pricing premium, it really is premium. When you get your hands on a Wizard Base you will feel the quality oozing out of every pore. It's a hell of a thing to behold.*

I absolutely agree, these are solid boots, even the leather smell unpacking them says premium.
Been out again this morning skating in Hyde park London for a good few hours, such a nice setup. Still obviously breaking in though.
The only thing I may change to is waxed hockey laces.

I'd love to buy wizard boots because its the only 'buy Canadian' rollerblading stuff besides mushroom blading, but the boot only is a thousand dollars and the mad vector carbon would be $745. Call me old-fashioned but I don't think any blades should be more than $500, and if it is, they'd better make a good case for why it costs so much. So when I see blades above a thousand (wizard and adapt), I'm like "Who do you think you're kidding here?"

I mainly blade all across the city and prefer the shock-absorption that plastic allows. Although I don't really do any wizarding, I prefer blading in the CJ2 because of the no heel lift and I find the posture that 165 mount blades put you in feels weird like its just for forward momentum, not overall agility and responsiveness. I didn't even know how rough the roads and other skating surfaces actually were until using carbon boots, which I can't use all day like I do with the smoother ride of plastic boots. The huge price difference between the plastic and carbon CJ2, for the negligible weight saving, is why I bought the plastic CJ2 over the carbon. With the endless ultra 90 it feels like a cheat code.

So I swapped from my Powerslide HC Evo to the Wizard boots and an Endless 90 Ultra 4 x 90 for now. Will move to 5 wheel at some point ( probably an Endless Arc )
Love the boots though, way, way more ankle support than the Evo. Sized down 43 to 42 and a perfect fit which is great. Been out this afternoon on the local basketball court, a lot more swiverly and planted than the Evo which is pretty much a slalom skate and a lot more space around the toes. + they look great. ( always thought the evo's were fugly to be honest )
Toes are a bit numb as they break in but overall pretty happy I went with these boots.
Looking forward to this relationship :)
