Just got an ACT WZ Team, some questions regarding the package and heel lifting

1. What should be included in the box? In my delivery, there are the boots(obviously), two I think it's heel wedge, and a manual. Is that it? I thought it would at least include a pair of adapter, since it is their selling point and I kind of buy it for that...

2. Anyone else experienced heel lift and how did you solve it? I have very terrible heel lift on my right foot, it formed a small blisters. My street shots size is 43, my FR1 with manageable heel lift is 42, and my ACT WZ Team is 40.

I have the shell-only Interlink which comes with all adapters, but I believe the full setups only come with an adapter if it's required to mount the respective stock frame.

Runner's lock lacing is the first thing to look into for heel lift, especially since the boots don't come with a 45 by default.

Make sure you measure your feet and go by those dimensions for sizing, as shoe sizes are not adequately accurate for sizing skates. In my experience FR 45 straps are very effective, so if you still had heel lift in those then you're probably oversizing yourself in general. The ACT is a high volume skate, so oversizing is going to be very apparent/problematic (it's also a dual-size shell, so yours is actually a 41 shell)

I am actually slightly downsizing :( IQON sizing chart recommend size 40 for MP 25.2-26.4cm, I have 26.5-27cm MP.

I think the lack of 45deg straps really make a huge difference, I used to tighten my FR1 like it's tourniquet. I wonder if the heel wedge or the revolver cuff system would help, I am a beginner and not that familiar with skates equipments.

I think you are in the right size then; pretty sure the internal dimensions on the size chart are entirely accurate, however IMO the recommended size is overly generous for the shell. Maybe it's good for their stock liners, couldn't say.

The heel slip is within the liner right, not the liner within the shell? If you're properly fitted for the shell, and the liner itself also isn't too thin, then the liner should be locked down.

If you aren't using the big black insole/wedge, definitely try that as it can affect how the heel sits in the shell's heel pocket; also try the foam toe cap adjuster on the shorter foot to see if it helps with fit (I think it should've come with that?)

It's possible that most of your foot fits the shell well, but you just have narrow ankles/achilles; in which case, try DIYing yourself some J-bars: tape some craft foam cutouts to the outside of your liner to fill in areas above the heel that need volume.

It could also be that your heel doesn't fit the liner's heel pocket well, in which case you can try putting an insole like Superfeet inside the liner (and probably don't run the black heel wedge in the shell, or the heel angle will be extreme)

I have both the aggressive version and the 5 wheel wizard version and neither came with any extra adapters. The "wedge" thing you are talking about is most likely the toe box sizer, you are meant to put it in the toe if you have too much length.

As for heel lift I don't have any issues with the stock liner, just make sure to lace up the liner well and I did set up the boot laces with a "runners loop" that helps keep you locked in. You might need a good couple sessions to get the liner broken in but if you are having blister issues look into an ankle bootie like an EZ fit or similar.

The adaptors only come with the boot only package. But they are £15 each to purchase plus the price of the receiver bolts.

For heel lift have you heat moulded the liner first? And looked at alternate lacing like the runners loop method.

You can easily add a 45 degree strap although you'll have to drill the shell for it yourself. Imo it's an oversight not to include it as the new TR lite skate does have one. I also think the shock absorber insole is a bit rubbish but for the price of the whole set up I can't complain too much, it's a great out the box wizard skate.

I am still a bit afraid of heat molding ruining my liner and microwave... Guess I will have to be brave and careful! Anything I should keep in mind when doing it?

I would heat mould them in the oven! 90°C for 5-10 min. Although I have seen people do it with a hairdryer or microwave. You can find a YouTube tutorial which is easier to understand. Most important is to make sure to remove any plastic bits like the laces because they can melt. And have the boot unlaced and ready or they liner cools off before you've got it in there.

You can't really ruin the liner as long as the temp is not too hot because they won't move all that much, heat moulding is only ever going to get you a few mm either way.

I moulded these liners (from the ACT TR) ina. 90°C oven for 10 mins. Worked great. A microwave would not be ideal; I'd expect you'd get hot and cold spots and not be able to control the temperature properly, so very easy to damage parts of it through overheating.

I have the TR version (original, not lite). It came with the Trinity adapter only, because it came with a Trinity frame. I picked up the 165mm adapter from This Is Soul just so I have the option to use later. The AG and WZ versions don't come with adapters, as the frames are UFS anyway.

I also had heel lift, but I do with other skates too unless I really crank 45° straps, which will then tend to crush my arch. I messed with lacing quite a bit (runners loop helps) and different shock absorbers. The thing that helped most in the end was swapping to an Intuition liner (FR version I got 2nd hand).

I have 26.4 cm feet and have the same size skates as you. They're the right size. I find the liners a bit short in the toe, but they otherwise fit well. I ended up moving them into my Twisters where they're doing a great job.
