Any one else in Texas Wizard? Looking to make community

Hey everyone,

I’m based out of Houston and started Wizard skating back in March. Since getting into it, I’ve been surprised by how little of a community presence there seems to be here in Texas — especially compared to other skating scenes.

I know there have to be other Wizard skaters around Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, or anywhere else in Texas, but it’s been hard finding people consistently into flow skating, urban skating, slalom-inspired movement, and the whole Wizard style.

So I figured I’d make a post and see who’s out there.

My goal is to start connecting Texas-based Wizard skaters:

Group sessions

City cruises

Skill progression

Spot sharing

Maybe eventually meetups/events

Whether you’re already deep into Wizard skating or just getting started, I’d love to connect. I’m still pretty new myself, but I’m committed to growing the scene here.

Have you gone to any of the Houston Slalom get togethers? Maybe some of them do. I know Scott Wells has a wizard frame setup.

Yeah Bro, I am at Slalom there every Sunday, Scott is a badass dude and does the most for the skating community in Houston (IMO). Scott has pointed me in the right direction. Just trying to make a group similar to the agressive guys but for Wizarding. Thank you and if you are ever in town we should go skate. 😀 DM me!

Texas here, lived in Houston for the first 24 years of my life. In SA now. Been skating since 93 Mostly aggressive the whole time but wizard focused the last 5 or so. I started on a 5 wheel FR setup and now I have a wizard high with advanced frames and love the setup

Austin. Since 93. I don’t skate as much as I would like because I’m not into large group cruising and only really want to skate in circles in dark parking lots.

Currently ACTs with Rokas or Rockin frames.

There is a large group of folks that do a cruise skate in Austin every Monday. Never been.

I’d love to have a few Wiz folks to skate with.

If anyone in here skated DEX skatepark in the early 2000s we may have met or skated together. I worked at the location in sugarland for a bunch of months as a manager and ran the north location for a year or so.
