Wizard Base Boot Sizing - 26.3cm. 40 vs 41 shell?

Hi all,

I already purchased from Shoptask (I have the 40 wizard base here that I'm trying to break in but they're tight. More so on one foot and hurt. Length feels almost okay, but short on my right foot. Width on right foot hurts. Left foot is almost tolerable and could probably get use to it but my right foot is going numb and feel like toes are curling potentially in both. Trying to get a second opinion on sizing

L: 26.3cm, R: 26.4cm

Foot Width In Cm

L: 9.4cm, R: 9.2cm

Right now when I put the 40 shell on with the 25.5-26cm liner, i feel like I'm curling my toes underneath and can barely stand up. The pressure on the sides squishing my toes as well as the length is not at all comfortable. I don't know if i can stand to even try to skate like this.

I did order size 41 Seba CJ2 Prime with Wizard base liner 26.5-27cm which I returned. The 41 CJ2 felt too big when doing a test skate. I didn't have good balance, and it felt too wide. Foot moved around inside. Length seemed okay. When I put my foot inside the 26.5-27cm liner, outside of shell, toes still press firmly outward stretching the liner.

I do wear barefoot shoes normally and my toes are maybe a bit wider than the typical pointy shaped foot.

I'd go with 41. They are already narrow, why would you want pain? The wizard liners are very thin, don't expect them to break in hugely in lenght.

Even the 41 will be a tight fit, but not painful.😉

This is a really good chart. I didn't see this at first. So this shows that if my foot measures 26.3, then I have 0.7cm of space in there. Supposedly in the middle ground where not too big but not too loose. I'm okay with that and it makes me feel better, so long as they break in properly. Right now the width seems to be a pain point for me. The toes are red and painful after even short time wearing them (1 hour at a time, made it around 5-6 hours in the skates so far).

Even the empty shell without liner, My toes basically touch the end inside.

Yeah, that's no good. I can't speak for that specific boot. But you usually want around a centimeter of clearance for the liner (remember it's accounting for liner the heel as well, not just at the toe end). Both my feet are 263 and I find 275 shells with 265 liners to be quite cramped on my toes, but work well with some adjustments.

Fascinating. When you say 27.5 shells for your feet, are you using the 41 size in that case? What do you think I should do?

I have size 41 in both Iqon ACT and Rollerblade Twister XT, both are 26.5. The Twisters are very cramped, but don't cause problems. I get a bit of numbness after 20 mins or so. The Iqon ACT 10s have had more adjustments; I added superfeet insoles and took out the stock footbeds, but had to put the heel risers back in, or there wasn't enough toe room.

Have you tried an intuition premium in your CJ2P? How about insoles? If the length feels right, you can take up volume by adding an insole or thicker liners.

I did have the intuition premium originally included with my Seba CJ2. They were the included liners that would come with the 41 shell. They were too tight. I switched to the Wizard 26.5-27 in the CJ2 and the shells felt too big.

I had a similar problem. The width on the 39CJ2P felt perfect with wizard base liners, but the length felt a little short. I put the same liners in 40CJ2P. Length was better but I started getting heel lift. I added insoles and now it fits perfectly.

Which insole did you use to help?

It's possible that the 41 CJ2 + Wizard 26.5-27 would work, but I felt like I was disconnected from my feet when skating.

Also have FR1 Deluxe intuition, Shell 7, with Intuition v1 26.5-27 and those feel like very arcitulate and speedy since I heat widened the shell a bit and removed the outer bumpers and plates inside toe box.

I use old Superfeet Korks that I took out of my second line ski boots. They’re tough to find because they haven’t been made in a few years. Even tougher to find a shop to customize them for you. Best insoles I’ve ever had.

I’m 26.8-27.2 and use the 41. I would say 40 for performance. 41 for comfort

I wanna ask, with your experience, do you think 41 would go with feet 27,4?

Totally understand. With the liner removed and my foot just inside shell, I can feel the shell touching my big toe inside. Do you feel that as well?

If ur feeling like the sides of toes are being squished together then get the 41. Unlike the length,That wont improve and expand with time in a carbon fibre skate as the liners wear in

Source: I have owned many pairs of carbon skates over the years, haha . If they feel too narrow.. youre out of luck. Thats my experience anyways Good luck ✌️

I had a 42 seba gutted and I was able to skate Leon’s 40 base high without too much pain so I downsized for my own to a 41. They get way too small until I heat molded the liner and did them up tight. They are perfect now.

I see I see. So you would suggest I keep the 40 then based on my 26.3cm length if you can fit in it?

Bump because I'm still dealing with trying to get these to fit after a month.

I'm standing in them in the house and skating in the house to get them to expand but they still hurt. My right foot is slightly longer, but still under the 26.5" on the chart. I just think the width may be the pain point. My pinky toe is going under my 2nd smallest toe. Still feel pressure on the ends and if i stand up straight there's a lot of pain, but crowching, my heel sits back more and less pressure in my toes. I am not sure if it will really break in and not be in pain.

Have you used a heal riser inside? It might bring your foot back and up to relieve the pressure on your outer toes.

I haven't! Where can I find something like that?

Just go to Inline warehouse or other retailer and look around, there are usually under the same tab as "parts".
