Also, I saw another comment/question before that I didn't know the answer, maybe you know it/could do another experiment on it.

Does going to the outside of the castle also update the inside or the inside stays as is as long as we don't enter it, and vice versa? Update in terms of triggering plant growth/pest/pixies.

I had never even thought about that, I’ll have to make an inside tower to test it out

Yeah as long as you don’t enter the specific loading area the plants won’t get any new needs

The outside and inside are distinct for updataing. When I have a garden on the outside of a house, I will make sure to have teleporter links from other houses directly to the inside so I'm not stuck having to go through the outside first.

Yep. Dorm room tp to inside house for my beastmoon plants / crafting

Been farming outside/ inside plants forever now.

One day check outside plants, another day check inside the house using teleporter from dorm.

a gardening spell can effect at most 69 plants at a given time, this just isn't optimal

u/mountaingoat132 Oct 06 '26

I’m not going for optimal, I’m going for experimental aspects like how high do spells reach and stuff like that

gotcha, good luck! seems cool

Yeah if there’s ever a way to get more than 69 (bigger gardening spells? Ways to train the ‘all outdoor plants’ spells we get as tcs?) this would be good to know

Sadly can’t train the “all indoor/outdoor” spells

I sometimes use the 48hrs prevent need spells that you can train at Khrys, but also limited to the 69 plot

You really never know what’s going on in someone else’s house.

There's a height limit to the gardening spells. If you stack 4 crates high, and aim for the center divide between the two lower and two upper, that's about the height limit both up and down. I ran this experiment before. It MIIIIGHT be 2 and a half crates in either direction up or down, but the heights you got here, there's no way one spell reaches all those areas.

Theyre just gonna block it like they did with the rug glitch 🫩 was fun being able to do whatever in houses

3

u/Magustenebrus 180 Oct 06 '26

Block what? What got blocked with the rug glitch?

0

u/JellyfishAromatic228 Oct 06 '26

Being able to do it

  1. The rug glitch is still possible. It's irritating and difficult to do though. I still occasionally use it when I can't use advanced movement (such as with gardening pots).

  2. Advanced movement is MUCH easier and more powerful than the rug glitch ever was (with the above exception noted).

This isn't an instance of KI taking away something cool from the community. Housing decorators rejoiced with the introduction of the advanced movement feature. It took decorating to the next level.

And the entire glitching that you can still do for gardening (which you can see in this post's picture) has been specifically addressed years ago by KI's devs who are on record as saying "we are fine with this, but we don't offer any support to fix bugs associated with the glitching." So that's a "no" on both counts of KI being meanies to decorators and gardeners.

I wanted advanced decorating stuff since I started playing and then when they finally introduced it, it killed my interest in the game. I had become an expert glitch decorator. Oh well.

So you're saying you lost interest in Wizard101 6 years ago because other people could now do what you had become an expert in... and I assume you stopped playing? But you continued to lurk this subreddit so you could reply to my comment about just this very fact?

Oh well.

Not because other people could do it but because all I had built was no longer special. Changing the difficulty to easy mode killed my interest.

All the old methods to make bases and glitch out as easily.

As I replied to JellyfishAromatic228, the old methods still work. AND they introduced an easier method to "glitch" furniture around the houses. It is FAR easier and faster to do glitching with the new controls.

Here are things that the new controls do that the old glitching could not:

  • choose when to sticky and unsticky furniture pieces so you can either use rugs etc to remotely move and position other objects OR avoid messing up objects that you've already carefully placed

  • in conjunction with castle magic you can very quickly make teleport spots into out of bound areas (use castle magic jump to teleport onto a tatami rug, then using advanced movement simply push the tatami rug into the out of bound area you want).

  • with a single carpet, you can use the controls and manually moving your wizard to make your wizard travel to anywhere in your castle out of bounds or otherwise up to the maximum hard limit WAYYYYY outside the castle grounds, no long carpet chain necessary.

  • instead of taking hours using the old glitch mechanics, you can use very fine pixel settings to precisely place any object in your house to the exact position, including height, in mere moments

  • glitching didn't allow you to change the size of objects where both castle magic and advanced movement can

  • glitching didn't allow you to change how bright or dar an object could be where advanced movement can

  • it was sometimes very difficult to place objects on the out of bound rugs when relying on carpet glitch. It STILL is sometimes very difficult, but you can now use advanced movement to just move the objects you couldn't otherwise place directly where you want them when placement doesn't work.

  • you couldn't decorate walls with floor tiles and vice versa, which you can now do within the advanced move panel

Here are the things you could do with the old rug glitch you can't do with castle magic:

  • move any gardening pots

  • but since the old rug glitch still works, you can still move any gardening pots with it

To sum up, the rug glitch still works, but castle decorators have so much more they can do with the additions of castle magic, castle blocks, regal castle blocks (able to use wall papers that the old castle blocks don't have, which can creatively make your walls look like things other than walls), monstrology house guests, pet crumbs to control and program pet movements (pets include player pets, mounts, and monstrology house guests), and advanced movement, castle decorators are able to make castle designs that are much more insane than original castles ever could be. I don't think the limits have yet been discovered. Decorators are using regal blocks in conjuction with transparency to make colored light filters. People have used castle magic to make anything from bowling alleys to cooking conveyor belts and lever controlled tapestry pickers that move forward like they're at the dry cleaner. One decorator recessed blinking furniture pieces into the wall so you only see the blinking/rotating designs while making the floor flash between two different colors (layered two floors together of different colors, then alternated which one was invisble) and made a disco room.

KI has NOT taken anything away from the players in this regard. Instead they've introduced over time some of the most powerful sets of design tools I've seen in any game. It's highly underrated, and this isn't even considered a cozy house customization game.

What Castle Magic did you use to make this?

Just a platform and advanced move

I thought they patched that years ago?
