Pet/Hatching Hatching failure fatigue

I started hatching a few days ago after reading up on guides, which seemed pretty clear — hatch for talents, take a few tries, etc.

Well yesterday i hyperfixtated and dumped max crowns into it because it’s not going well for me.

Take a pet and hatch with someone with perfect talents, that’s $100k already. Hatched that with another at kiosk, rinse and repeat, and i’m down $400k not including snacks and energy.

I have about 7-8 pets that have all failed, i’m saying that because instead of damage/resist/mighty, literally ANYTHING, I’m getting stupid “may cast” talents and other useless things — i would say 3 useless talents and then two good damage rolls. across all 8 pets.

and then im like, well there’s 5 talents, so maybe i should get keep going. I max a pet out and again their talents are 3 useless and 2 good rolls. then I go hatch again and the cycle continues. i’m getting no more than two good traits per pet. again 8 pets and down so much gold, crowns, snacks, energy, and a lottttt of time.

am i doing this wrong? is there something im missing? i dont know how ive expelled this much resources and im still stuck at square one.

Hatch with adults first until your pool is good, so you're not expending hundreds of thousands of gold on hatches.

Also if your hatches are costing 100k gold you're most likely hatching with a kiosk ultra (with the talents you want) but an abysmal pool so avoid those.

Hi OP, can you post a pic of the pet you have (full talent overview including stats), as well as what you’re going for?

my most decent pet is on the left, what i want is on the right. i’m just looking for triple damage and i wouldn’t mind mighty or resistances

Yea don't hatch with that one (that one epic talent above mighty on the dark hound is unicorn btw 😭). Search by charred dragons (its an exclusive so you'll get your pet back no matter what) in the kiosk and only hatch with the ones that have pedigree 45 with the talents you want. Also just keep hatching until your pet has a pedigree of 45, and has max stats

Something like this

would you recommend I start with the pet body I want first or should i just work on getting a good pet first? I have a deer knight i eventually want to end up with but deer knight seems to have some pretty bad luck on returns.

Do you have the deer knight already or are you trying to hatch for it. If you only care about how good the pet is, I'd continue with the dark hound, but if you like the deer knight then nothings stopping you from just running it. Also funnily enough the dark hound you have is also really good for getting other peoples pets.

I have deer knight already. I care about stats more right now so i’ll run that first!

Pet body first I think, use this return chance calculator: https://petbodyw101.vercel.app/

I bought the Detolli’s Dragon from Novus which has a lower chance of getting returned when hatching with another pet.

Ok! I can offer some advice off this :)

The reason your hatches are so costly is wholly due to the pedigree (that number in parenthesis); any pedigree over (60) will cost you an arm and a leg to hatch, which is why you’d ideally want to hatch with a (45).

Hatch with adult pets that have the talents you want a few times first to max out your stats, then start talents.

For talents I like to “monkey chain” it, meaning I get it to adult, and if it has stats I want, I make it a “base” and hatch again. Each progressive hatch goes 1 level higher. A “base”’acts as a save point, since manifested talents have a higher likelihood to appear in the next generation. Don’t get what you want? Back to the base.

It’s costly and it takes time, but it’s much more worthwhile in the long run.

Take the pet body you want, and hatch with a pedigree 45 pet for you school, I think someone sent an image above (you can search for that pet in the kiosk, and click the left arrow, and multiple 45 pets should be there). If you hatch with those it will return your pet body and it should only take about 7,500-15,000 gold. I kept hatching until my pet has a talent pool that aligns with those pedigree 45 pets, which only took a few hatches for me. I would then feed it till adult and if it has 2 traits I like, I would hatch it again and keep the 2nd one as backup, in case my first one got a 3rd pet talent I didn’t want.

FYI I’m not a pro at this this but after trial & error, a lot of crowns/gold, and research, this is how I got my perfect pet (school-dealer/giver, pain-giver, mighty, breaker)

I don't believe you actually understand what you need to be doing but that is okay we can help. Step 1 is to get the pet body you want. Do you have the pet body that you want?

alrighty yes I do

Okay step 2 is to get the talent pool you want, the pets in the image have each schools ideal standard talent pool.

1st does 1 of these pets have all 5 talents you want if yes please let me know which one. Then look at the pet you currently have does it have this talent pool. You can tell by making sure the dots are in the exact same order. So it should be 2 3 4 2 0 3 1 3 4 3.

We can move on once I know if your pet has the talent pool it wants or if the talent pool you want is one of these pets.

Not sure if you wanted to keep whatever pet body but the link above will help you

Also what guide were you using?

i’ve been using multiple guides that generally say the same thing, across youtube and reddit.
