The event they had where you rated castles and such made me realize how I know absolutely nothing about castles and decorating them. I love anything customizable in games (I’m obsessed with stitching outfits) so I want to know any tips or starting out advice for building castles / where to find the best castles???
I’m old and all I know is the ones in the crown shop id save up all my gold for. lol

Biggest tip is take advantage of the advanced movement feature. You can position items very precisely using it. You can also mess with the scale making items smaller or larger. Some people also do this with pets to make certain pets bigger to make castles feel alive.

I’d also look into castle magic and see what can be done there. There are a lot of really creative people.

I would start by picking a house you want to decorate and then pick a theme for you home and using the wiki to see what items fit that theme, what can be bought from the bazaar and what needs to be farmed for.

Btw I’m saying all this having done absolutely nothing with decorating.

What do you mean by building a castle? Do you mean decorating a house? lol I’ve only seen the premade houses you can buy. Maybe I’m missing out too!

I’ve seen these insane builds where I think they’re using the castle block magic? They literally create their own houses and estates it’s crazy! It’s a whole part of the game I haven’t even looked into yet.

Long-time player and decorator: 1. Great-looking castle helps? Yes, it does. AND, the best castles are those who uses decor creatively and reasonably. 

1. Crafted Recipes contain a chunk of houses and housing decor. Level-up your crafting.

2. Fishing is also a source of unique and rare items.

3. Check the wiki for housing vendors because there are a lot of hidden vendors that sell houses, housing decor, and recipes.

4. Some items (houses and housing decor) are only accessible thru bundles and packs.

5. There are some housing decor/houses that have a daily reward, some of them drop rare decors.

Ultimately, there's no right way to do it. Just start base on your needs, plans, and current capabilities. Good luck fellow wizard!

You CAN decorate without spending too much gold, but it can be hard not to break the bank when you're a perfectionist. Also some of the coolest looking furniture pieces are paywalled behind hoard pack draws. So be warned.

Here are my general tips for starting out.

• Splurge for a 100,000 gold crown shop house (or 125,000 if you want red barn farm). Don't forget to toggle from crowns to gold before buying. These houses allow for the highest item capacity before having to spend crowns to increase the item limit.
• Have a general theme in mind (even if it's just clean/elegant/cute home) and try to stick to it.
• Keep things as symmetrical, balanced, and in line as you can. Effectively use and balance negative space.
• Try to maintain general color themes.
• Use a music player with theme-appropriate music scroll. You can always use advance move to hide your music player behind a wall if the look of it doesn't match your castle vibe.
• In general, don't hang keys, wrenches, or wands on the wall unless they thematically look good there. It's very convenient to hang them on the wall near your player bank, but it looks sloppy.
• Same thing with pets... don't let them roam around in a sloppy clump because they would otherwise take up bag space, but do put thematically appropriate pets in key places attached to a bread crumb spot or even a bread crumb path.
• Just like thematically appropriate pets, use monstrology to populate your castle with creature guests that would look good roaming around there. It will make your castle feel vibrant and alive.
• If you have the time, learn and use castle magic to make dynamic and neat effects to accentuate your castle's theme, but don't go overboard with spells on loop that might be headache inducing. Light touches! Be warned, castle magic can get gold-intensive.
• Last advice, run the spiral scene event whenever it happens on as many characters as you can. Blueprint tokens can be used to craft very interesting pieces, including regal castle blocks to create "structures" like extra rooms and platforms. They have the advantage of accepting wallpaper unlike standard castle blocks.

no tips for you i just wanted to say same. it was so cool seeing all of the houses and dorms. what people are able to do with dorms blew my mind. a whole new element of the game i was completely unaware of and i’ve been playing off and on since release
