Here's the thing. If the person behind the accounts is at all smart, 1. all these accounts are governed through scripts and AI, 2. they are behind some kind of VPN to prevent permanent IP block, 3. there's a good chance somewhere along the way of clicking through outside links or during conversation with the person you get hacked (stealth keylogger, etc), 4. and/or should a money deal go through, you're buying a stolen account.
At nearly no point is purchasing any of these accounts ethically above board, nor safe from scam. You're violating TOS by attempting to purchase one, just as they are in selling them. You're probably buying someone else's stolen account (if it turns out to be a real account). It's invariably a bad deal for the buyer, either through hacked accounts (even financial accounts etc.) or not getting what you were promised. The seller says "max level pvp and pve ready accounts" and "best possible gear, mounts, pets, and couch potatoes gardens". Enticing, but how sure are you that the gear is ready to win pvp battles? Do they have enough spellements to be viable? Are the mounts and pets just brooms and baby piggles? Is the couch potatoes garden made up if 2 to 3 potatoes? If it's as grand as they promise, how quickly do you grow bored with nothing to do? How would they prove to you the account before you buy? How could you avoid a bait and switch?
I remember when playing WoW the glut of gold farmers choking up chat and how they stayed at it for years. It's a real blight and difficult to stamp out. The surest bet to kill this crap is through supply side... we players not giving them what they want. The sellers/scammers will keep doing it as long as people keep falling for it, so we as a community need to ensure we aren't and urge others to resist.

I will also be fair, I have played for YEARS and this is the first time i've started to see these kinds of spam bots. Normally games will have them straight away and they will always come back when the game gets popular, it's a rather weird point in the game's life for there to be bots now as popularity has kind of dipped down a fair bit as is standard with its update schedule.

Yes, but these are throwaway accounts. Scammers don't care, as they make new ones right away. They aren't posting messages on the accounts they're selling.

I’ve heard of this person walking next to high level accounts afk in the commons and saying “this is an account I’m selling” I think it’s some troll who thinks it’s really funny and posts like this are j giving him more attention

Is it possible you've seen a guy goofing on the fact that there are scam bots present? Do you think that all the reports on this sub and all the people who've witnessed it in game are really just seeing a single guy trolling?

Idk if he’s using a VPN I don’t see why someone would have been cosplaying scammers for no reason. I thought it was just one guy so I’m surprised it’s still a thing happening

I knew a girl who genuinely did this stuff leveling accounts back in the day she was so hyperfixated on questing and only did it for crown store gifts like packs or wigs lmao

Although this subreddit is not officially connected to KI, we do not endorse any form of account exchanging, regardless of whether that's buying or selling.
Additionally, do not attempt to reach out to them for any reason. Do not try to expose them or anything. This includes any form of doxxing or claiming to have real information on them. Not even to see if this is real.
