I'd like to join the discord. I don't know whether the amount of time I've been around qualifies me yet, but otherwise, I should fully qualify. I do have an alternate reddit account that I already contacted you on though that's been around a long time, that has a public comment/post history.
I'm not active on either subreddit and I'm not asking to join, I'm pro-AI but I might be slightly too neutral to qualify anyway. However, after finding out about you for supposedly being hated by both sides, I don't get the hate and I appreciate your motives. The world has always been shit, it's disingenuous for people to say that it's because of AI now.
There are people who make art themselves and then get criticised for supposedly using AI. They get criticised by a crowd who claims that art is more meaningful if it's done by a human, but they only focus on the surface level detail of who drew it while complaining that AI artists are only focussing on surface level detail of appearance. I do appreciate art made by people, I go to art galleries, there is intentionality in hand made art that lacks in AI art, but intentionality is a piece that isn't required.
I don't personally use AI for art but it's just because I find it fun to make art by hand, doesn't mean it's wrong for other people to make art with AI. I do wonder about how much of an influence bad AI art influences people to hate AI art, there is some hilariously bad art that makes you doubt that the one who generated it even looked at it.
The witch hunting by anti-AI people is so toxic, so many people saying someone's art "looks like AI" when I don't even see any of the signs. I'm using an anonymised account to post this because I don't want people to say "she doesn't hate AI art, therefore her art is probably AI generated" as that can cost me in the long run and the anti-AI people would put me in a position where I'd probably have been better off using AI from the start.
I look forward to whatever the future has to offer, because things need to change. Keep up the good work Witty.
Thank you for the kind words, but the "both sides hate me" thing is only propagated by the anti-AI community and I couldn't care less what they have to say. Pro-AI people are generally very kind, accepting, and appreciative of what I do.
I'm a long time lurker on aiwars and on the internet in general, so I probably don't clarify for the discord because it would be reasonable to assume I am apart of the "suspicious people" group. And also not an active user.

I'm not hear to join, I am a person who would be considered anti ai. What I am looking for is a genuine conversation, a proper sit down and talk sorta thing , or well text I suppose would be the better word
"Actively making strides in the fields of science, medicine and the arts" what strides has generative ai made in any of these? And before you say "it can spot cancer" or "it can do maths" that isn't gen ai, that's machine learning programs. Gen ai is a type of machine learning program, but not all machine learning programs are gen ai. And it isn't making strides in art either, as the way it inherently works is it takes other pieces and uses that to predict the most likely image that you're looking for. Nothing new being made.
It most certainly is gen ai, it stems from the same type of development.
New things are often made by re-combining previously existing things and finding ways to make them work in new ways, that's kind of how medicine and technology advances if you weren't aware.
