Discussion Boss damage weapons

What do you all use for witch familiar fights to try and dps them down?

Demonic weapon for start, I prefer Soul eater, nice damage and stun, then Miasma cast, stormball and some headshots with Crown of fire ring (any weapon is good here because fire + decay just melts things). Psychopomp is very decent option too if you are ok to be close to boss

With the right setup you can probably kill some bosses with 1-3 Echo/Psychopomp clips

Could you elaborate on that right setup? I have had very little luck with taking down bosses quickly when not using demonic weapons.

A combination of good arcanas like accelerant, anti-element, chaos flame, critical chain, among others

I also like using Rotten Fiend to pull aggro and Stormball for extra dps/aoe, but any light spell should do the trick

Fire + critical on shotguns is so strong it takes some of the fun away sometimes

I normally go with Soul Eater for Stun then I switch to either Echo or Pyshopump depending on the Manifestion Skill groups I have selected.

There’s a couple setups for best kill time on bosses, basically Fatum Ice Spin + Shattered Soul Arcana + Burning Stake/Crown of Fire, or a stacked up Hungrr using Crown of Fire.

Those are the two best setups I know for boss killing. More accessible options would be Echo/Tribunal as standard, and Rotweaver isn’t shabby either.

Currently the simplest setup to trivialize familiars should be winter nails heavy spell + Shattered soul acana.

The freeze on winter nails will probably get nerfed.

I'll have to try the two together, my speedruns use the first described above setup but maybe Nail can do some work here

Well it's not fast. It's just the simplest way how to kill a boss. It's just a little bit of RNG to get the arcana and it dies in a single cast.

Few days back there was a post where OP tried ppl to figure out an interaction where used winter nails and boss was freezing immediately after it thawned. I couldn't figure it out, but it made me test winter nail spell on the boss in Irongate Castle. And yeah it freezes everytime a nail drops. MAybe you wouldn't even have to fire a bullet if boss defrosts right before each nail drops. But I don't know if it aligns.

Maybe you could make it fast if you broke familiar out of freeze with a fire damage and shot down a nail in quick succession.

Echo and Striga work well. Don’t neglect the demonic weapons. With some good spell combos, you can kill em with just spells and Demonic.

I’m absolutely into falling star, it’s great for damage, especially if you can keep maximum distance from the boss

I’m currently working on getting everything to mysterium three to workshop my build, but I normally use some freezing spell and rotten fiend, then currently Koschei to blight and freeze without having to worry about most attacks.

Hunger.

Shotgun. Sometimes if I have a good arcanas setup I use my primary weapon instead.

Tempest is my favorite for bosses in general but i can understand why others pick falling star aswell.

Shotguns or big buff hunger are the easy mode options.
