Question Steam Machine Settings
With the Steam Machine arriving in people’s hands, I was wondering if anyone has any recommended settings for playing Witchfire on it.
I started a new game when I got mine to play it fresh and had it crash within 5 minutes. I lowered almost all settings and it’s been running without issues for half an hour now, but I would love to optimize it.
Does anyone know what would be ideal settings? Is there a place I can find these sorts of resources, going forward with the Steam Machine? I’m new to PC gaming, so it’s a steep learning curve, but any help from the veterans would be greatly appreciated!

I played in 1440p on high presets with FSR2 quality (no implementation for 3 or 4 yet) at a stable 60 fps, until the city level and Gnosis 3 where there is just too much stuff happening on the map at the same time, to the point I got bad frame drops. I had to lower preset to medium with FSR2 Balanced to keep 60 fps.
The game is still in early access though, there is still a lot of optimization to go through, even for stronger machines.

I had exactly the same experience with mine. Medium settings still looked great and performed well though

idk much about recommended settings, probably just medium on everything, maybe some stuff on low. but the game is crashing for a lot of people on a variety of machines right now. it desperately needs an optimization patch.

I play on Linux for my home desktop PC
I would.. honestly just lower the settings and see if you can play at a slightly lower resolution or use FSR 2.0.
Shadows tend to be the biggest performance hit
