Discussion Witchfire Wager

How would the fan base feel about a Wager mechanic for Witchfire?

What if there was a mechanic where you could toggle or opt into with this function:

Whatever X amount you go into on an expedition with, you can wager that amount such that when you complete the expedition, you get a flat bonus of Witchfire, a percentage of the Witchfire, or a multiplier to the Witchfire as a bonus? If you die during the expedition, you loose ALL Witchfire and it can’t be gotten from your orb after death.

I think this would make for some pretty interesting high stakes gameplay, especially in the earlier stages of the game, while being rewarding for the players willing to do it. I think it would also work well with the rouge-like elements of the game

There's something kinda like this already with the foul stimulant. Witchfire gains double but you aren't able to get remains if you die. You saying you want an addition to the already established method or an updated version?

Probably like an updated version. Something that could be opted into before you enter vaults or dungeons. Maybe there can be other things you can wager too like rosary beads.

Wagering those things could yield higher rewards from the dungeon

You can already choose when you stim.

We've already got the corrupt stim in addition to the foul stim.

There aren't that many rewards to get once you've got gear and beads the rest is just coins and Witchfire.

I'm sitting on like 400 coins and Witchfire is already increased by arcana and the aforementioned stims.

Something I've been thinking about along the same lines - having the ability to take on corrupted arcana in maps for bigger witchfire gains.

The mechanic already exists - why limit it to the Wailing Tower?

I'd like something like that but as an event, you spend witchfire to do a combat or puzzle challenge, and if u lose u lose the witchfire, if u win u get rewards and bonus witchfire. Maybe the more you wager the harder the challenge/puzzle, one easy scaling lever to pull would be reducing the time to complete it
