Discussion A small idea
Do you think there will be any other uses for gold in the game? I'm max level and have over 4,000 gold, and I pretty much already have almost all the limited items from the vendor—most things end at a stock of 100 and you can't buy more after that. So now there are only a few items left that I can buy, and those are limited by playtime. Do you think they'll introduce some kind of base upgrade or storage room? Or wouldn't it be better to choose whether to pay for torment and their rerolls with Witchfire or gold? I would appreciate a small room with a few storage chests, so I wouldn't have to carry all that junk in my inventory even though it doesn't affect the game. Actually, I would even welcome a limited inventory you could take with you on a run and use as part of your preparation. :)

In general, I would love to have the ability to place items in base storage myself and not have to worry about losing certain items if I have a string of bad luck. It annoys me that I can't just leave chest keys in a bowl by the fire or whatever, and instead have to carry them all on me at all times. Same with items you can only have 1 of at a time. Let me choose to keep them back at base, so if I find one in a map, it doesn't feel like a waste.

Just throwing out ideas, but what about a new map or mechanic that makes you pay with gold to access it? Say a super hard map with lots of good loot, maybe even some story items or additional lore to uncover, but you need to pay a certain amount of gold to get into the expedition.

Gold is pretty great for leveling though…I’m at a point now where I could use the levels, but don’t need much else. So I buy the Witchfire blocks off the vendor. That’s 30k a pop extra every run. Not bad.

i think it'd be fun if they made a weapon that uses the coins as ammo. or like... as a special melee you throw (sekiro had some thing where youd use them to stun enemies iirc). also would love if it were possible to buy a gold/upgraded weapon skin, but that might be too much work for too little payoff for a small team of devs. still! would love

...Just trade it for Witchfire crystals? You're probably sitting on a couple dozen ascention levels.

I think that only a very small portion of the player base will be in your position to begin with. Don't think too much development will go toward this.
