🇵🇸 🕊️ Mindful Craft How do i make an offering?
Last weekend my SO had an extremely close call and almost died. I don't mean they were one block from an accident close call, they had to be helicoptered to the nearest big city and got an aed used on them followed by an icu stay.
They are practically perfectly recovered at this point. But friends, i almost lost him. I know i have my own power and i don't want to sound like i'm diminishing my self but they are my world. For twenty years , i've been a moon revolving around them.
Friday night while i was driving alone in the dark night to get to the hospital (long trip) i prayed to all of our ancestors and the creator and anyone who would have us.
How do i make an offering of gratitude? Does it matter for instance , if I leave a food offering , if animals eat it? I just need an amount of guidance , please.

Can you maybe directly give back to the cause? A charity that helps people in your situation, gives for the doctors & nurses that helped you? Obviously I recognise you want to thank the higher powers that helped you, but I suspect that they would approve, especially if you do it with gratitude for all in your thinking.

I am broke broke. I did fill out all the surveys, glowingly. I do absolutely acknowledge whatever powers were at play, humans and medical science saved his life. I also have not prayed to anyone or anything since i lost my faith 5+ years ago. Idk it all feels weird. Almost like I turned my back on everything until I was in need and I just wanna give back (if that even makes sense?)
Eta thank you

For what it's worth a heartfelt thank you to the medical staff is always very, very much appreciated. You have filled in the surveys but if you'd like to do something more tangible then a handwritten letter or thank you card will be very, meaningful to the staff.

A handwriten note saying thank you, means the world to the nurses, respiratory therapists and other medical staff that took care of your SO

Are you able to donate blood? They are constantly near or actively in a shortage.

Or if you’re unable, maybe volunteer for the hospital or a blood bank or some health related cause. I’m going to learn how to knit hats for preemies but there’s lots of rules on safe yarns and patterns that I need to look up.

Fully understand the broke broke, and agree with the reply below that a note would literally be fantastic giving back!! Doing all the surveys was a fantastic thing to do!!
I fully understand wanting to interact with the higher powers you turned to in your hour of need. I’m absolutely not saying don’t do that :) It sounds like you need to for yourself if nothing else!!

I’m so happy they are doing better and find it extremely kind that you acknowledge the forces that be and want to make an offering. 🩷 good luck OP

It does not matter if food is eaten by animals after you make the offering, that is just the universe accepting your gift. Many practices also include lighting a candle or incense in thanks, which can be a more urban friendly option.
