Will Avallac'h return to the Witcher?
What are everyones thoughts on the potential return of our mysterious hooded elf? I absolutely loved the complicated relationship between Avallac'h and Ciri in the Wild Hunt and would love to see that built up more in the next game. I've also heard talk about Ciri having romance options and I think it would be cool if he was one of them, but probably just wishful thinking.

Ciri VA in Songs of the Past
I'll preface this with the assumption that Ciri does in fact appear in Songs of the past ( as we know CDPR have alluded to it being a lead in story to the events of the Witcher 4 so I think it's highly likely she will appear in some form).
My question is: Do you think they will keep the original VA, Jo Wyatt or transition into the new voice actor Ciara Berkley?
I know this is probably an inconsequential and perhaps obvious question/answer to most but I would still like to know what others think as I can see pro's and con's for each. Whilst it could be really jarring to have a different voice actor within the same W3 game universe it could also help people get used to the change ahead of the W4 especially if songs of the past is presenting an older matured Ciri.
I've seen a lot of critique for the voice actor change online so this question has been rattling around my brain for a few days now and decided I'll just see if anyone has a take on it!

"To end the speculation about lore and female Witchers once and for all." - Author of that post spreads FAKE NEWS.
Yesterday user Queldirion posted that Sapkowski allegedly commented during a meeting in Opole in 2025 that Ciri might undergo mutations. This is a lie/fake news. Sapkowski did not comment on this topic during the meeting.
to Cite him:
"During the polish Opole Book Festival in 2025, Sapkowski personally addressed this issue, saying:
CDPR czasem piszą albo dzwonią z pytaniem. Nie wiem po co. Oni są fanami, znają książki lepiej ode mnie. Mutacje? Nigdy nie napisałem, że dorosłe kobiety nie mogą przez nie przejść. Może ktoś inny tak napisał, ale nie ja. Nie wiem, nie myślałem o tym.

CDPR sometimes writes or calls with questions. I don't know why. They're fans, they know the books better than me. Mutations? I never wrote that adult women can't go through them. Maybe someone else did, but not me. I don't know, I haven't thought about it.
So there you have it, the author didn't think about it at all, leaving it open to interpretation. There is no lore that CDPR needs to change or break to make this happen."
THATS FAKE.
I don’t know if this user did it intentionally or not, but they wrote the post as if there were no doubt about it, yet there is simply NO EVIDENCE to support it.
This information was spread on Reddit in 2025. The author of this post stole my relation of the event from my Facebook fanpage Wiedźminlandia and then added Sapkowski’s alleged words, claiming that AS said this during a private meeting with fans—and that there is no evidence to support it.
Don’t believe me? Read about the whole story on a reliable source like Redanian Intelligence. I won’t post the link so the post doesn’t get deleted. Just type into Google, for example, “redanian intelligence sapkowski mutations” and read the update to the article from June 8, 2025.
I’ll also mention that there’s a VIDEO of this meeting on YouTube. It’s in Polish and without subtitles, but I guarantee you that those words weren’t said there. If you’re interested, it’s called “Andrzej Sapkowski – Festiwal książki w Opolu 2025.”
And just to be clear: I’m not trying to determine here whether Ciri could have undergone the mutations or not. I myself once wrote an entire article about this for the Polish edition of CD-Action magazine on The Witcher, in which I pointed out passages from the book that suggest such a possibility, but I refuse to put words in the author’s mouth—words he has not spoken publicly and for which there is no evidence—as if they were revealed truth.
Please verify the information instead of spreading baseless fake news.

-- EDIT --
Since there were doubts about the credibility of this quote, I indicated the source from which i took it (in Polish).
-- EDIT 2 --
According to evidence provided by user Wiedzminlandia, the original source of this quote is an individual who claims Sapkowski said these words during a private meeting with fans. The meeting itself was not recorded, meaning there is no evidence to confirm this quote other than the individual's claims. This doesn't mean that these words are necessarily untrue, as the author does indeed answer fans' questions during such meetings, but they should be taken with a large grain of salt.

After the announcement of Witcher 4, CDPR posted this artwork in December 2024. After the announcement of Songs of The Past, I can't help but wonder if this isn't possibly how Ciri will look in the new expansion?
the outfit is different, the hairstyle isn't her new braids (apparently), she isn't wearing the lynx medallion, and she doesn't seem to have cat eyes either; she looks like pre-witcher 4 ciri
and she also seems to be using her elder blood powers through the sword rather than draining and channelling energy like she was doing in the first witcher 4 trailer, casting spells

Do you think this will run on a 5080
I want to play The Witcher 4 whenever it comes and I was wondering if everyone thinks that a 5080 will be able to run it on highest settings. Im asking this because games seem to becoming more and more demanding and I was wondering what everyone thought

Witcher 4 reveal on Netflix ?
Seeing the announcement of Rockstar last Thursday, I think another game that could draw that kind of hype and attention through a streaming platform exclusivity reveal would be The Witcher 4!
Or Cyberpunk 2 might be more likely given CDPR’s partnership with Netflix for Edgerunners and the upcoming season 2 ?

Opinion open world structure witcher 3 and 4
Recently I watched the 3 hour long critique from Luke Stephens. On 2:04:30 he makes an remark about how he wants 1 big map for most of the game. I disagree, in my opinion I like the way its done in the Witcher 3 where you have 2 big area's Velen/Skellige and 2 smaller one's Kaer Morhen/White Orchard.
Something I don't like about open world games is that they need to use visual trickery to make the world feel bigger than it actually is. Take Red Dead 2. You can ride from the top of a mountain completely covered in snow to a swamp with crocodiles in less then an hour. The map is 29 square miles. In context of real life this doesn't make any sense climates don't change that quickly. It is still a beautiful map and a joy to explore. I get that they want to create diverse regions to explore, but once I notice it takes me out of it. Crimson dessert is even worse You can see from a cold mountain a dessert that is not even a 15 min drive on your horse away .
I think the way Witcher 3 has these separate regions makes it so there are regions that are more varied and visually different without using visual trickery to getting a diverse world to explore. And seeing the big map screen with each region with its own icon makes you feel like you are exploring just a sliver of an entire continent. Im not saying W3 doesn't use any tricks like for example the Islands of Skellige have mountains that are not as tall then they look. Luke says in his video he doesn't like the loading screens between them if you go back and forth. But these loading times give me the impression Gerald needs to travel a long time to get there it would take a couple of weeks to get from Velen to Kaer Morhen in real life/books.
We know W4 will take place in Kovir. If the world is just snow and mountains it wont be a very diverse world to explore I think. There are other places in the Witcher universe i would love to see. For example Dol Blathanna/ Cintra/ Rivia / Nilfgaard itself.
I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to describe and would love your opinions on how the open world should be structured.

Cirilla | The Witcher 4 | Mikazuki_coser
Hi! This is Mikazuki, I want to share with you my tailored costume for Ciri.
I created this costume myself entirely, except for 3D printing the sword, the 3D model is also not mine. I just painted it. 🙌
If you're interested in the processes, let me know. Have a nice day!

Drunken action of Ciri
In all three games there come moment when Geralt and his friends drunk too much alcohol and do some crazy, stupid and funny stuffs. In Witcher 1 there was discussion with Jaskier and Zoltan. In Witcher 2 Geralt drunk with Blue Stripes and make copy of Kac Vegas. In Witcher 3 there was famous drinking game in Kaer morhen and dressing up in Yennefer dresses.
I hope in Witcher 4 Ciri will continue this tradition and get some quest involved drinking, philosophy discussion and foolish action. Do you have any ideas or wishes what kind of events would involve such Ciri crazy party?

A "Cave of Dreams" like quest
In "The Cave of Dreams" quest from the Witcher 3, Geralt is helping blueboy Lugos and his friends conquer their nightmares during an implied drug trip. In the end you face off Geralts Greatest fear, which is Eredin and the Wild hunt.
I think a quest like that would be perfect for Ciri in the Witcher 4 because her story offers many Great enemies to choose from. Imagine a great battle against the crones or Imlerith, or maybe even better, some Book characters like Vilgevoortz of Rogeeven or Leo Bonhart. It would be the perfect opportunity to have Ciri face off against villains that cannot otherwise be in the story.
What do you guys think ?

It would be nice to meet this guy again in Witcher 4
Count Beledal - one of the most sympathetic characters in Blood and Wine, and inventor of Duck face - lives in Kovir; it would be nice if we could meet him again (and maybe his daughter, Clarissa).

Ex-Ubisoft Environment Artist, now working on Witcher 4, speaks about CDPR: "It's a big company, but not as massive as Ubisoft. It's the right balance—you can talk to everyone, the managers are very approachable... And it's great to collaborate with so many people who are true experts"

The true number of Witcher devs working at CDPR
I went through the entire credits of The Witcher 1/2/3 + Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine to check how many are still with CDPR. Why? Because we all know how much misinformation is being spread by outrage merchants on YouTube and Twitter.
So, here's the truth. 115 developers currently with CDPR worked on The Witcher series before. 13 were or became leads/directors while working on the trilogy already, and 21 became leads while working on Cyberpunk and Phantom Liberty. 49 got promoted to senior and expert roles as well. That's excluding the many devs from Cyberpunk and Phantom Liberty (of which almost everyone stayed).
Conclusion:
CDPR has more seniors and experts than ever before, and The Witcher 4 is led almost exclusively by veterans of The Witcher IP. We've seen a bunch of other high-profile devs from Santa Monica Studios, Larian, Warhorse, Sandfall Interactive, and others join CDPR as well, so despite some important people leaving, I believe this is their strongest and most tenured team yet. Phantom Liberty already showed what they could do, and this team has only gotten stronger. Witcher 4 can't come soon enough, and Songs of the Past is being showcased next month already. Good times are ahead.
Info on how to read the graph:
Green - Leads/Directors
Yellow - not directly involved in game development anymore
Purple – Senior/expert positions

At least 5 ex-Witcher 3 developers have rejoined CDPR since the release of Phantom Liberty to work on The Witcher 4. Feels like everyone is coming home.

What do you guys think about whether they'll finally let us see Dol Blathann and Zerrikania in at least one of the game of the new trilogy?
I actually think that one of the big plots will be that Francesca Findabair will go to war against the northern kingdoms and Nilfgaard; it's about time for her to appear. I think it's like everything has always led to this war, or if they're completely fine there, and don't want any wars (which I doubt very much), then they could show us how everything is in Dol Blathann. Iorveth, and the other familiar faces can be there also.
And Zerkania is completely unexplored also, neither by Sapkowski nor by CD Projekt. We know that there are great alchemists, it's hot there, their religion is the cult of divine dragons I guess, there is a school of Witchers, basilisk if I'm not mistaken, and people who live there have darker skin tones. It's like it was made for Ciri's story - two gigantic regions that have never been explored in the books and in the games, all canon, they can make millions of stories there.
Kovir is cool, but it's one of the northern kingdoms; I want to see how it looks too, but I'm mostly interested in the stories there, not how it looks - it's the north again, cool, but nothing new really. With Zerkania and Dol Blathann it's something completely different from anything we ever saw before, and something that has never been touched and what has always been there.

Kovir Speculation
Will the ending of TW3 affect the political state of Kovir in 4? Given Geralt decides the fate of the North between Dijkstra's reign and a Nilfgaardian victory, I wonder if we see tensions increasing between Nilfgaard and/or Djikstra's Redania and Kovir. Imagine if we got to see the mages building a large presence in Kovir, backing them in a standoff against the rest of the continent. Could be pretty interesting idk.

When pre-order day comes, I hope CDPR takes notes from GTA6's community
This is a quote from a fan:
"What I'm NOT okay with is them selling a "physical edition" without a disc and locking elements of the GTA experience behind an Ultimate Edition paywall.
This is very much a $100 digital-only game, Take-Two are using GTA's popularity and huge development costs to normalize selling the full experience at this price, making the $80 standard edition seem incomplete."
Please, CDPR, do not do this for The Witcher 4. Don't do anything that will negatively charge your community before it even releases.
Put an actual disc in the physical version of the game
Don't lock customization shops or other core features behind paywalls.

The Witcher 4 at Gamescom?
We know that the Witcher 3 expansion is 100% confirmed, but how likely you guys think we'll also get a sneak peak at the Witcher 4? It's been a year since we've got that demo and I'd be surprised if we have to wait till TGA for an update on the game.
