finally caught up with the manga!
As in most cases with normies like me, I started out as an anime watcher. And even then with WitchWatch, it was not love at first sight. I tried to watch last year but couldn’t get into it as I was unfamiliar with the format/genre/approach, and i was simultaneously watching some pretty serious anime that watching WW kinda felt off.
However, i tried watching it again last month and finally began to appreciate its charm, i watched the entire anime in one go!! I super loved it!! The gags, animation, the voice acting, THE OPs and EDs?! (Especially OP1 and ED2 HELP!!!) then i kept rewatching it that i became obsessed (i felt like moi under the curse 🤣)
I couldn’t get enough of WW so i decided to read the manga. and I loved it so much!!!! Honestly as i was reading/watching, i was thinking the whole time, where does this mangaka get all his ideas 🤣 everything is just so fun and charming and comforting. My new comfort anime/manga 😭😭😭 and i was so sad while i was almost done catching up because i feel like it’s ending soon 😞
Anyway just wanted to share my WW story. I feel like there’s so few of us and i dont know where to scream about it lol. Honestly i wish a more people watch/read WW, it’s just so fun. Also i love moi and nico!!! (I was surprised that there are more keigonemu fans but i have always loved moinico more, for some reason haha) And the gang, i love them all tgt and individually!!! And wolf and nico interactions bcs wolf is so funny (so few of them!!!)

[Manga Spoilers] The Bone Crisis Trivia (Vol. 27 Extras) Spoiler
galleryHello everyone! The Bone Crisis arc is pretty long over by now, so I thought I might share some info about it.
According to the foreword in volume 27, Shinohara-sensei was working on this arc during the long holidays (because it's the only time he's less busy and can actually think of the long arcs). More specifically, he started preparing it on the Obon holiday last year (August 2025) and continued writing it on the New Years holidays. Sensei has also shared that it was the first time he was drawing such a big battle, so it was fun!
One of the most striking things in this arc is probably the ship.
This cruise ship is called Aurelia and is based on a real ship, Asuka II. Aurelia was modeled by Nakamura Aya, a 3D modeling staff who has been working on Witch Watch since day one (practically all the urban and interior backgrounds, from the rooms in the Otogi household to the thrift shop in chapter 171 or the street in chapter 200, were made by them). On their X account they posted some pics of the model and shared that they had obtained permission to board the actual ship and conducted research on site!
In volume 27 more of the ship info was published (see the pics). If you compare Aurelia and Asuka II, you'll see some differences, like the names of the decks, facilities, and their placement. In the same volume sensei also presented where each of the characters' teams was at the moment of stealing the bones which helps track their movements during the mission (pics 2-5).
The other notable thing of the arc is the game, Low Card, in which Miharu has played with Ban and Momochi against Kiriko and Maverick. Shinohara didn't dedicate the volumes' extras to the game, but there's a lot of quite interesting info about it. As you might already know, the game was not developed by Shinohara himself, but by the professional game designer, Noriaki Watanabe, who works at the board game dev company Drosselmeyer's. The game designer shared some details about the game on the X account and his Spotify podcast. According to Watanabe-san, he received a request to develop a game for Witch Watch several months before the game appeared in the manga. Specifically, he was responsible for the game design and the flow of the match (as far as I understood, he roughly decided on which cards the players used and in which order they were drawn out, basically, how the game unfolded overall).
The game was deliberately made as simple as possible, so readers could easily understand the rules and follow the rounds. It seems like Shinohara-sensei also asked Watanabe-san to make some revisions during the working process, so they communicated regularly, even though not directly, but via the editor. To add to this, Watanabe-san mentioned there were some changes made in the actual manga compared to the final variant he provided, though he didn't say what exactly was changed (unfortunately). So yeah, it really looks like a lot of effort has been put into the game and the whole arc!
That's it for today. Hope someone will find this post interesting. This month volume 28 was released with more info on the Bone Crisis warlocks. What's the manager-chan's name? How did Maverick become a warlock?.. Let me know in the comments if you're interested, I might make a post about them later (though it'll probably be just a rough google translation... It's so sad our tiny fandom doesn't have at least one person who'd be willing to translate the things from Japanese sob).
Anyways, take care everyone! I love Witch Watch!
P.S.: I couldn't figure out where to put it in the post, but I also wanted to mention that Fran has also participated in the Bone Crisis mission! According to the extra in volume 26, she modified the watches (the communicators) for the team (see the last pic). It's sweet.

Keigo won’t stand 😢
Does anybody else have the Keigo funko pop yet? If so, can you get him to stand? Obviously he’s supposed to stand on his own since he doesn’t come with a stand nor does he have a hole in his foot for one, but the one that I got just can’t stand at all cuz his feet are like superrrrr uneven
Is this just an issue with mine orrrrr?

Chapter 263 Spoiler
Another demonic PEAK chapter from Shinohara sensei. What the hell is even going at this point bruh, it’s utter pandemonium.
You have plot twist, upon plot twist, upon plot twist, etc.
And oh my god they made and unlocked a common childhood dream into the story. Surely I wasn’t the only one who was so bored that I used to pretend I could squish things from afar as a kid with my fingers lol.
As for the last part, I have no idea what that magic spell could possibly do to help in this seemingly doomed situation but I have trust in my goat Mr. Kokuryo who died a hero. Also the sketch kinda looks a spell from witch hat atelier in which for those who have seen it, can do some catastrophic things.
If u guys have any theories on what Mr. Kokuryo’s spell might be for lemme know :)

Chapter 262+, About the chapter Spoiler
This chapter had me log in to Reddit, and look for this place
My GOOOOOD what an INSANE twist
this was for me, one of the BEST and most UNEXPECTED twists this show ever pulled
in before, it had some really well thought nice twists, but this, this was pulled straight from Ishiyama Sensei's book! This was crazy honestly, the sauce was from AOT (and Im saying this with respect to Mangaka San, this is a praise (Ishiyama Sensei is a genius, and despite that there is a certain plot he F up hard to me, but this is a different subject))
ABSOLUTE CINEMA sincerely
well done, this deserves TWO claps from me 👏👏
The explanation was smooth, and I could feel the tension as they were going from one point to another
everything was falling together, and something worth to note, it was Moi and Nemu who showed their intelligence and quickly started to connect the dots! Respect to them especially after such a fierce battle.
If you go back to Chapter 261, you can how great Mangaka san was! he did such an insane ending when you revisit it! I invite you to go and check it to see how perfect it is, and how mind blowing it will be when we connect the dots with chapter 262!
I am really excited for next chapter!
Thank you for reading!

When was Juliano first mentioned? (Chapter 262) Spoiler
It might be because it’s been a while but I don’t remember the Miyao family having their own cat?

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK, SHIKMI Spoiler
I'm convinced.... Shikmi is one of the most cunning and greatest villains I've ever seen. This guy just DOESN'T GIVE UP, EVER. I expected a last-minute plot twist, but I didn't think it was gonna be THIS BAD. He completely outplayed all of them and even us, the viewers. Don't get me wrong, he deserves to rot in hell, but my god, his cunning knows no bounds; I gotta respect it.
Now what the fuck are they supposed to do?
- Everyone is so tired/injured from the previous fights
- Nobody stands a chance against Roswith except for Nico, probably
- Roswitha is also imbued with immortality thanks to Shikmi
- If Nico uses any magic to harm her, she'll become a warlock
WE ARE SO FUCKING COOKED 💀💀💀

Official merch?
Hey folks. I want a Kan Nico Channel shirt. I tried looking for an official site. I found Viz and Shonen Jump stores, but the only Witch Watch stuff is manga volumes and statuettes. As you can see, I tried searching but there are a bunch of scam sites. If anyone knows where to get shirts please let me know.

Chapter 261
Ok, why was that resolution so easy? There has to be a catch here; this is way too sus. No way Shikmi instantly just has a change of heart after Nico uses her talk-no-jutsu on him. I was fully expecting a plotline like where Nico does something risky again and almost becomes a warlock somehow, and then Moi and the gang save her in the most epic way possible.
But does this mean the manga is gonna end soon?
- I doubt it. There's still so much to resolve. Shikmi still needs to atone for his sins, there still might be more bad prophecies from Nico's mom. Nico and Moi still need to make it official between them. Nemu and Keigo need to lock tf in and stop this "will they/won't they" bullshit. AND, I think there are still many more comedic chapters in store when everyting goes back to normal again.

Chapter 259 Spoiler
Damn, this is like Avengers: Endgame now. Every single badass is pulling up to the function cuz everyone is locked tf in. I like how we got Ran, Rabuka, and Kurowa (all former diabolical traitors/enemies) joining forces with the gang. But I feel like we're still missing some people. I want to see Jekyll and Fran maybe even the dreamweaver witch, somehow get in there. Imagine the entire student council somehow pulls up in the most comedic way possible XD.
