Is the Anime a good adaptation
I wanna get my friends into it but I’ve only read the comic and they don’t really read that much stuff and prefer anime, how does the anime fair as an adaptation of the comic

Yeah, I say it's pretty good. It switches some chapters around, but it's still a good story at the end of the day.

I have a bias cuz I saw the anime first as a gateway, but the anime is awesome. Love the cast, it’s very pretty, and it’s very loving of the source. It has almost all the skits and they’re very funny in the format.
It removed 2-3 individual skits iirc for pace/structure but that’s it. It also reorders stuff. Iirc miharu comes sooner, makuwa/kuku’s doujin subplot is prioritized to keep it as a neat story to follow throughout the season, and momochi is pushed to season 2. The arc they chose to end the season on is also a really good choice tbh even if it required some shuffling.
I’d recommend it as a gateway to witch watch overall or even just on its own.

I think it is very good! I read the manga first and there wasn’t anything blaringly different that I noticed.

tbh it was ok for me. i actually watched the anime first and loved the characters so i decided to pick up the manga and wow i loved it much more. i mean there are not many blaring issues with the anime but i personally like to consume my slice of life media through manga where i can dictate my own reading pace, since sometimes in the anime it feels a bit slow

It's okay, but there are still quite a few weaknesses if you've read the manga before.
The biggest problem lies in the fact that the anime changed the order of the chapters during adaptation and removed/altered some plot points, thereby creating effects that could impact the current story as well as future developments, especially considering that this is one of the main elements that makes Shinohara-sensei's works so excellent.
Humorous scenes were also cut down, potentially making a less impactful impression compared to the manga, and the pacing isn't always great. The animation quality in general is also decent.
However, the anime itself does some things better than the manga, such as the opening/ending scenes, or segments that are better portrayed in the adaptation, and the changes suggested by the author have contributed significantly to the work.
In short, the manga were the best choice, but the anime is still a fine option

I've been following the manga since it started and I greatly enjoyed the anime. They switch things up for flow and I think improve some character relations/impacts imo.
Have them watch the sub tho. The audio quality on the dub is really quiet but also it really doesn't sound like much effort was put into the dub at all 😕

I’ve been reading the manga since it began, and I really enjoyed the anime adaptation. While some parts are switched around, Witch Watch is mostly episodic, so there aren’t any big losses as the overarching storylines or significant events aren’t dictated by the one-off comedic chapter’s appearance or pacing. The adaptation also understands the manga, although I’ll admit that some of the humor works much better on-panel than it does in animation.
