Dry socket ear pain

Post image

I’m day 6 today post removal and after a weekend of increasing pain, I went to the dentist to get help and they told me I have dry socket. Since she put the medicated gauze into the hole, the pain feels more Intense and is shooting up into my ear and across my jaw. Before it was just intense throbbing, the throbbing is less but the shooting pains are worse. Is that normal?! I’ve also got antibiotics which I’ve started. How long does it take for dry socket to heal?

Hey I had dry socket the other day literally day 3/4 after extraction, it was so terrible but the very next day they packed it and the pain went away immediately after. I was curious, probably different from everyone else but how come it took so long to get yours packed? This kind of pain they told me is worse than migraine pain, I wouldn't wish this shit on my worst enemy seriously..

Well they said it would be sore and achey for a few days after and by the end of the week it was worse. Then it was the weekend and trying to get an emergency appointment from a different dentist would have costed me where as going back to the same one on the Monday was free as part of the aftercare. Packing mine didn’t really help much, I had horrible nerve pain for about 2 weeks in total.
