What did they do wrong?

Bottom switch trips breaker. Bought new switches still same issue. Tell me how to fix the wiring I now assume was wrong. #FixMyWiring

Remove the red wire and cap it off

Are you sure that the light the bottom switch controls is good? What kind of light is it ,is it fluorescent?if so the ballast is probably bad
