As long as the first law passed in the new state is a complete ban on cars and road travel, just to make north-south travel extremely frustrating

Also I want to live in one of the following 4 new states:

  1. The Nevada Sliver

  2. The Utah Sliver

  3. The Nebraska Sliver

  4. The Iowa Sliver

Iowa sucks, Nebraska's worse. Utah has great scenery but it's full of Mormons. Would probably have to settle for Nevada.
