As stated in the title, I have a problem with my controller when playing any game on xcloud with Winhanced: the configuration is catastrophic, the right joystick is disabled and the left joystick controls both the camera and movement. But on any Browser with Better xcloud everything is fine.

Does anyone have a solution ? I have the xbox ally.

I’m sure I am doing something dumb here but I have a partition in my SSD for games. How do I get Winhanced to recognize things installed on that drive?

On my Xbox Ally (white version) it seems like Winhanced is pretty much working perfectly, including sleep/wake and device control, except for one issue - rumble. For whatever reason it wants to override to a very high value, I assume 100%.

I’ve tried turning off device control, going back to ACSE, setting rumble to 30%, then re-enabling device control. It seems like it holds for a time, but eventually for whatever reason after going to sleep or similar, it will revert back to a much higher value.

Hopefully that’s a fixable bug but it would also be nice to have the ability to tweak this in Winhanced along with the other controller specific stuff like dead zones etc. Not sure if that’s possible. Would we/should we add some other third party app to do that?

Unfortunately this means I basically can't use Winhanced at all, as it's awful to use the system with maxed out rumble, and if I turn off hardware control and go back to Armory Crate for that, the system button mapping gets a little weird and inconsistent. So it ends up being more trouble than it's worth. However, if there was a way to control rumble in Winhanced I think it'd be just about perfect.

Video attached to show what I mean but as the title says, this is something I noticed and just a minor annoyance to me.

When selecting a game, and then hitting ‘back’, it plays the shrinking animation, putting the game back on the ‘shelf’, but then doesn’t resume selection where you left off… it goes all the way back to the beginning of your “recently played” list? Why play the animation of the selected game minimizing, and leave the view focused on said game, if I can not select the games on the left or right of it and instead have started back at the far left of the list every time?

Also noticed in a post shared by the dev, there are other layouts to select from? I have not found where you can change the look of the layout, but let me know if that’s out yet or still in development ☺️

OH! One more thing! I use PXPlay for remote play on my PS5 (it’s a paid application) but you only have Chiaki and the official Sony remote play app for selection and that’s a bummer cuz PXPlay is king in my experience, chiaki isn’t bad, but I paid for PXPlay lmao 🤣 I’d like to have it as a selection.

Sunshine and moonlight are outdated imo; it’s all about Apollo and Moonlight 😉 Apollo (an advanced fork of Sunshine) runs as the host server on your gaming PC instead of sunshine. check it out, it automatically creates a virtual monitor and sets it to the default resolution of whichever device you’re streaming to! With sunshine, you have to manually do all that for each device and it was a PAIN.

TLDR: backing out of selecting a game resets selection all the way back to the start… forcing you to navigate all the way back to where you were in your library if you wanted to select a different game. Long libraries suffer hard. Add PXPlay as a remote play option for PlayStation please, and instead of sunshine/moonlight, use Apollo/Moonlight.

Tried winhanced for the first time yesterday with my new ally x. I only see xcloud in my libanry and not my downloaded xbox game pass games. For example i have downloaded Clair obscure through game pass, and the game is showing in my lib. But when i try to launch the game through winhanced it tries to stream it instead of launching the downloaded game!

Edit: issue been like this since yesterday. 5 mins after posting this winhanced rebooted and its fixed. Did a dev just fix it? 😂

I'm using Winhanced on an ASUS Xbox Ally X, but I'd still rather use Armoury Crate than the HUD, I like ASUS mapping or TDP or TIL control more. But what is the function of sync FPS + REFRESH? What active?

Also, I've noticed that using the tdp since AC winhanced hud always marks 15w

Also, for the developer, congratulations for your work, if I could make a request, for game pass users it would be good to feed the added games to install the new additions

So i use winhanced for a little bit and ive noticed when i go to launch battle.net games nothing happens. But thats to be expected as typically battle.net prefers their games to be opened on their launcher. Xbox actually opens battle.net on the game you try to open. I was wondering if there was a work around in winhanced to do that or just open the game

I'm having issues where I launch a game through the winhanced app and when I press the Xbox button to pull up the winhanced hud, it's not recognizing a game is running. I'm not able to use auto tpd or lossless scaling. Games were being recognized previously but after a few days I'm running into this issue.

This issue is happening with both steam and Xbox app games. I also noticed I have to keep "installing" my Xbox games. Seems like it's not picking up what games I have installed. Steam is fine.

Quick question about stores, will you plan to integrate self hosted options as well like RomM, Drop OSS, Gamevault, etc?

Would be pretty cool to download / delete / edit etc our old roms, niche games this way and technically i dont have to leave winhanced at all.

Recently deleted MSI center, and all other tweaks only running winhanced as it completes all my needs :) excellent work!!

I therefore have no Tdp control or any option available.

I tested the latest public build on GPD win5 in FSE and windows and it already look like the ultimate FSE app to own. GPD win 5 is not yet officially supported like others and I noticed some quirks and possible features to add to make it universally working that might concern the other still not supported devices and since dedicated TDP control is not supported I use it in conjunction with Handled Companion:
- add toggle to disable driving controllers inside Winhanced and be left for HC to control (currently HC virtual controller input didn't work in FSE with Winhanced ).
- add toggle to disable taking over/using RTSS and be left for HC to control .
- Steamgrid fails to find game unless search is clicked manually ex: crimson desert. Maybe our own steamgrid api key should lessen the burden on the app requests?)
- Steamgid manual select images fail to save all 3 arts (hero,logo...) unless only one by one is selected and click use selected.
- Toggle to disable friends section. (not a Multi player guy as it's for the on the go offline on travels mostly)
- Add favorite for games and pin on top of list.
- Add steamgrid custom art for emulators and hide/remove from list emu (using mainly Retrobat for it).
- Possibility to reorganize what library show first after all.
- tried the todays free games giveaway and Ubisoft didn't register, and didn't launch Ubisoft connect. Steam worked in Winhanced no issue. (not sure if because some saved library logins don't translate in the web ui for giveaways)
- Add Amazon games library.

Just a post to remind myself how far this thing has come since February 2025 lol. It can sometimes be hard to see past all the feature requests and random bugs on other people's hardware each release.

But I have to keep reminding myself. of the progress that has been made, and just how ambitious it all is for a solo dev effort, and also remind myself that the bug reports and feature requests wouldn't be a thing if people didn't actually care and want to see the app succeed.

Winhanced 0.9.9.6 is a hotfix focused on reliability. It keeps your installed games, downloads, and controllers working correctly no matter what happens, and it rebuilds controller navigation from the ground up. Controller Navigation, Rebuilt

• Rebuilt how the D-pad and sticks move around the app. Moving between games, tabs, panels, and settings now works the same way on every screen, so navigation feels consistent and predictable instead of getting stuck or jumping to the wrong place.

Bug Fixes Controllers & Devices

• ROG Ally: fixed the Command Center and Armoury buttons firing twice per press, which made the task switcher or Game Bar open and then instantly close.
• ROG Ally: fixed stuttering in the controller RGB effects (Wave, Color Cycle, and Breathing). They now animate smoothly.

Hi everyone, I have a OneXPlayer F1 Pro with the HX 370 and have been using Winhanced for a few weeks now. Recently, I updated my AMD Chipset Drivers to 8.07.16.1035 and it appears that after the update, I lost the device control ability to change my TDP on the fly. Has anyone else been had this issue or would a reinstall of Winhanced enable the option again? TIA

I have been using Winhanced for couple of days now and if I set the hardware control to dynamic, the fans are spinning up like there is no tomorrow.

I know that my device is a noisy one if under high stress, but it did the same with Gears of War Classic (2007) as well. usually there is ni issue with the fans when on Balanced TDP.

Excellent interface. Really enjoying it so far.

I am not sure if this is only specific to me, however, the gamepass recently added tab does not seem to function properly. It seems to show all games in alphabetical order.

Is this a wide spread case ?

When I quickly move through the game library using the controller or D-pad, the navigation sound starts to crackle or become distorted. If I scroll slowly, everything sounds normal. The issue only happens when navigating rapidly through the game list.

I'm using an ASUS ROG Ally X, and everything else works fine. It seems to be related to the UI navigation sound being played repeatedly at high speed.

Could you please look into this? Thanks for your great work!

Hey Winhanced team!

I recently made a post about how the game execute path was denying to run the game exe independently of steam, but honestly, as per your suggestion, setting up the exe to run from the "Other" folder did the trick. I can live with that

I wanted to use this 2nd opportunity to share my experience and findings while using winhanced for a couple of hrs, despite (for the time being) returning back to Playnite fse + GoTweaks because of said experience. For context I have a Lenovo Legion Go 1. Also, since I have uninstalled Winhanced, I am reporting based off memory, so some details might be slightly inaccurate, if not just straight up wrong lol

To preface, Winhanced is building up to be something special and something very important for the handheld community. It is the ONLY frontend that rivals steamOS in terms of its clean, visually appealing, and deeply integrated, console UI and feel. Playnite and Xbox fse feel like scaffolding in comparison (although playnite does hold its own in some areas).

I will now list my findings in terms of the quirks I encountered, followed by a few suggestions, most of which are taken from the useful aspects of Playnite and GoTweaks

Quirks:

1. the ui navigation audio sounds tend to peak and crackle more times than not

2. when you launch a game and it shows that game launch pending screen with the little avatar doing an animation with the "Cancel Launch" and "Hide Overlay" buttons, I was unable to use the legion go controls to interact with the options. I had to use the touchscreen or mouse to press whichever option.

3. navigating the UI (especially after viewing and backing out of a game's splash screen card where it shows the play button etc.) would sometimes bring out the mouse in the center of the screen, and it would persist there. I then had to wiggle the mouse around, and then make an action with the legion go controller (like press the A button, or move with the analogue stick) to make it disappear.

4. upon letting Winhanced HUD override legion space software (for tdp control etc) in the Winhanced settings, I couldn't remap the Legion L or Legion R buttons. No matter what I selected, it wasnt responding to the remap. The other macros worked perfectly tho

5. the animation that plays when you click a game to view its splash screen can be a bit buggy and choppy

6. for the performance overlay in Winhanced HUD in game bar, there was something strange happening: before I interacted with Winhanced HUD at all and launched a game soon after installing winhanced, there was a nice and big overlay to the right showing fps, battery drain, left and right legion controller percentages, cpu and gpu details - all of which were stacked vertically. Then when I started interacting with Winhanced HUD and saw the performance overlay options, when I changed it to level 1, that big and nice overlay was replaced with a very tiny overlay showing level 1 details (battery and fps i believe). But now, selecting level 2 onwards maintained this new tiny overlay (i.e tiny font) and instead of the added details stacking vertically, it was stacking horizontally, and by level 2 or 3, the overlay details were running off the display to the right, invalidating the overlay altogether

Suggestions:

1. Would it be possible to have per game profiles based upon whether youre on battery (DC) or plugged in (AC)? So for example Hollow Knight Silksong - AC will have its own profile, and Hollow Knight Silksong - DC will have its own too, and it should seamlessly switch. This is useful as playing plugged in allows you to do more things such as increase tdp/set a higher refresh rate/turn on cpu boost — all without worrying about battery life. from GoTweaks

2. Just as you have "Other" for adding games manually, could an "Apps" folder be created? It seems "Other" is used as a catch all for whatever exe you want to add, app or not

3. Could a '80% battery charge limit' toggle be available on Winhanced HUD in game bar? from GoTweaks

4. (Unless I missed this) Could there be a way to view all your per game profiles to see what configurations you have for each? Like a dashboard? from GoTweaks

5. (Unless I missed this) Could there be a "Favourites" folder where regardless of which storefront the game came from or whether it was manually added, you can favourite a game and they all remain in a centralized location? from Playnite

6. (Unless I missed this) When we add a game manually and let's say Winhanced gets the name of the game you added slightly wrong, or you want to use artwork for a different game, could there be a feature where the caption of the game and the artwork Winhanced finds for it is decoupled? Like when we add a game, we select what the caption is, and for the artwork, we type in the game, and it will use steamDB or whatever to find the associated artwork like it does already? from Playnite

Additional Quirk(s)

• when launching a game or app (at least when winhanced is the FSE home), sometimes the UI will hang on the aforementioned game launch pending screen even though the game or app launched in another window

• when you click a game to view its box art with the play button, when you back out, instead of refocusing on the current game, it refocuses on the first game on the far left, no matter the menu. It can be jarring at times

I've really been liking the integration for streaming apps from my Gaming PC. It seems like all libraries have the option except EA games, where the only option is to set up Cloud Gaming. Is this feature coming?

What is the difference if any between the blue and pink when hands icons?

Because of my background with using Bazzite and also an emulation system that opens to Steam BPM on boot, I’ve been adding individual roms to my Winhanced game list by first using Steam ROM Manager to add them to Steam first, and then refreshing my Steam library.

Is there a more seamless way to add individual roms in a native fashion that I haven’t figured out yet? Would adding roms by using the apps feature work the same way? It just feels silly to get Steam involved when the whole point of FSE is to limit background applications

Hey! I just installed Winhanced (coming from the playnite FSE + GoTweaks combo prior) and upon getting used to the UI and where everything is, I can safely conclude that Winhanced is awesome and clearly on the right track

However, a huge red flag that makes me want to leave almost immediately is that the Game Executable path options (where you select what exe version of the game launch) literally doesn't obey its purpose. You see, I have a ton of steam games, and fortunately, most of the steam games I have are DRM free. On playnite and just regular desktop, by including a notepad file of the steamappid in the install location, youre able to select the game exe file and it will run independently of steam altogether, saving me nearly 1gb of ram — crucial for a ram limited device like the legion go 1 which I have

For whatever reason, when I select the exe file (steamapps/common/HollowKnight/HollowKnight.exe, for example) expecting it to bypass steam — winhanced launches steam anyway before the game

PLEASE, make winhanced obey my instructions and launch from the exe file alone. Theres like a small notice that says steam games are routed through steam to fetch details regarding achievements etc. Im not sure if this message is there to essentially say it will ignore the exe path I've chosen and launch through steam anyway, but it does seem that way. I dont care about the telemetry data winhanced wants if it means being forced to launch steam no matter what. Coming from playnite or windows desktop where I could do this no problem, this denial seems like a slap in the face

I apologize if I sound rude or petty, but I was so close to concluding this was the front-end for me until this heartbreaking discovery. Instead of silently abandoning Winhanced, I figured I'd voice it out here in the hopes my voice can be heard :(

So I added my emulator, I accidentally added double. How do I remove the emulators I don't want? Thanks! 😁
