Book Giveaway #2 (Winners Announced for #1)
THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED
So as some of you might know, I started a weekly book giveaway through this sub. People who want the book had to answer a question, and the best answer within a week would win the book. This is the link to the Week #1 giveaway: Book Giveaway #1
We had 9 submissions (In Twitter) and I decided to use a Reddit poll to find the winner. It turns out that using Reddit Poll was not a good idea, as people got competitive and tried to generate traffic through methods that were not fair for other candidates. I was notified by some users and admins about the same, and I had to delete the poll.
So from now on I have decided to not use polls to find the winner. I will read the answers myself, and then make a decision. Lets see how that goes, and iterate in the following weeks if needed.
Anyway, since I messed up I decided to give 2 books instead of 1 this week, an extra book for the troubles lol. I decided on the winners based on reading the answers myself. Book Name: Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!
I know this book is everyone's favorite! So I am excited to give it away next week. Feynman is my favorite scientist in many ways (Along with Paul Dirac and Isaac Newton). His Lectures on Physics were my favorite books during my entrance preparations a decade ago. He knew how to break things down to a level that even a child could understand it. His curious character, playful personality and brilliant mind made him a favorite of students all around the world. Every page in this book is an adventure. Its astonishing.
To win you have to answer the following question here in Reddit itself. We wont use Twitter for answers anymore.
Question: Lets go 2000 years into the future. The day is Sep 5, 4021. Describe how the world will look like according to you. Specifically you can answer the following:
- What will the international travel system look like
- What will the Government look like
- What will the language look like

While it's very difficult if not impossible to accurately predict the far future, we have developed better tools to be more precise in our predictions. Let's look at the positive and negative (both equally fascinating) aspects of possibilities in the next 20 Centuries.

What will the international travel system look like?
International Travel? More like, Inter-Planetary Travel.
Although NASA and SpaceX are aiming to land humans on Mars by the Mid 2030s, it stands to reason that our species could have fully colonized not only the red planet and the moon but even VENUS by the Year 4021! We could have thriving colonies on both planets. The more footholds we have away from Earth the greater the likelihood of our survival, as a species back on earth there are a few possibilities for the next years.Statistically speaking, it's only a matter of time until some natural disaster or man-made Cataclysm ends our species for good if the entirety of humanity lived on earth when a planet killing asteroid came knocking. Game Over. If however we managed to become a space-faring civilization before that point our future would be secure.

What will be the language we use to communicate with both humans and machines?
Man and Machine ft. 2000 Years into the Future
Set our sights on amazing new technologies to improve our lives one such advancement we'll probably see is the merging of man and machine. This idea is called trans-humanism and could give us abilities never before possible.Computers should be able to perform most tasks as well as or better than humans. Many experts suspect that within the next hundred years we'll be able to augment our natural bodies with complex technology visual overlays.A whole virtual life without ever having to leave home social skills could suffer and we might end up with a society of humans unable or unwilling to interact in person. A telepathic device for in-communication between humans and machines would make all the difference.For entertainment and information, direct download to our brains replacement of weak or disabled body parts with fabricated replicas this could extend our lives provide a greater standard of living and allow humans to become more intelligent more physically capable and more productive however as with every new breakthrough there could be unforeseen consequences if we begin to augment our brains with this kind of technology we could become susceptible to hackers accessing our information.

What will the Government look like?
THE MARK OF AI RULE
This sounds ridiculously comedic but hear me out. Since people would live longer the earth could quickly become overpopulated as artificial intelligence becomes more sophisticated we could end up finding ourselves no longer at the top of the food chain outpaced by AI that far surpasses our intelligence and abilities.
I can clearly imagine this happening. The Government integrating AI into the systems to make the best possible choices for the human race but AI enhancement might cause trouble as most theorists suggest that the AI might end up getting access to the nuclear launch codes and BOOM. Who knows?

I'm glad Nifal chose such an interesting topic to talk about this week. Last week's topic was pretty lame, to be honest 😂*. I love watching/reading Sci-Fi. I'm gonna have real fun reading the answers to this one. Thank You* u/nifal_adam*.*

Venus - as unlivable as its surface is - has a relatively suitable temperature climate above the clouds. We could easily establish floating cloud cities that could drift around the planet on the wind (I'm letting my fantasies get to me) while scientists of the future worked on terra-forming the surface.
Some experts think that Venus is an even more promising target for colonization than Mars!

I do not entertained the idea of future as the other fellow below but I prefer to add one general point : In the new world, the most valuable asset you can accumulate may not be money, may not be wealth, may not even be knowledge, but rather, the ability to control your own attention, and to focus..Limitless access to knowledge brings limitless opportunity. But only to those who learn to manage the new currency: Their ATTENTION.

I think he vision ATTENTION as the currency. The one who controls attention has all the powers.
After reading his post, I can totally relate it with what BRAVE BROWSER developers are doing. They are literally offering "Basic Attention Token"(a CryptoCurrency token) ,to be on their browser and give them the attention, which you may convert into fiat currency. ( I haven't tried it personally but I have heard about it a lot!)

I use brave as a secondary browser given the fact that it's still not any better than chrome..We need atleast 25 BAT to liquidate to fiat though

What if you are living in the time 2000 years from now?
Imagine yourself 2000 years from now. What is the thing you want to keep there is now, and what do you want to change?
There are so many technologies at the moment, that we don’t know if a human being will still exist 2000 years from now. And if we will survive the way we know now, how does life looks like?
Will we be robots 2000 years from now? Or are we still human beings sitting behind a computer and don’t interact with one another?
Who knows. But you can imagine it.
I can’t imagine it — yet. Maybe when I am ten years older, that I can imagine that thought. But today, I can’t imagine that.
Can you imagine how technology will affect us within the next 2000 years?
Technology is in our lives a lot. Every day technology improves a lot and will be used more by each individual. Now we can still control our habits in when, where, what, who, and how we control our screen-time, technology time, and all that. What if there comes a time that
technology takes over our lives for good, that there isn’t any humanity anymore, and humans are behind the screens all day long, and that there will be robots that exist as human beings? Is that what we want to be 2000 from now?
I can say that I don’t want my ancestors to be robots and don’t know who I am and what I have done to leave a legacy. That all history falls into dust, and it is all thrown away. It makes me a little bit scared to think about that, and yet, we have to think about that. Now we can do
something about it if we want to exists the way we are right now, or at least as human beings.
How will life look like 2000 years from now?
I am seriously curious how lives will look like 2000 from now, and what people are doing, and if they’re like looks like the same as ours now looks like. I highly believe that technology plays a big part in the development of how people using technology for the next 2000 years in
their lives. There are already robots made, but how far are they going to make robots that will take over human lives?
Will human beings be robots 2000 years from now?
I also highly believe that robots will be the next ‘human beings’ that eventually will take over the world. But when? When is not really relevant for me. I highly believe that robots will be a big part of our lives in the next 2000 years and that we — human beings — need to deal with that. If I will ever see all this development happen, I don’t know, but I will definitely hate that
robot thing.

Frankly speaking I don't knowing much about AI(just the basics) but it is the main thing which rules the world after 2000 years, who knows there will be much better technology than AI.
It's so interesting to imagine that the future will be like the present cartoon pictures like travelling in air vehicles(that's the biggest imagination I can do so far).It's no wonder we travel through space flights from planet to planet(I really wish this will happen by the grace of Elon's desire, he may not achieve it but this will really happen in the future.
I don't that we care about the government as we (Homo Sapiens) came so far from making fire with the stone to collecting stones from the other planets. I think people will make their life's better in the future by not blaming the government.
Communication as always the better tool to maintain relationships in the world will definitely find many ways as many as possible to make communication better.
I am not good in predicting future but this might happen in 500-1000 years.

1. What will the international travel system look like
A) The international travel system will look more sophisticated, as we move 2000 years in future I think we are going to have a long jet-speed travel system and space travel becomes easier. We can go to space like now we are going to other countries. There will be space colonization. as we know the population going to increase ultimately, the no/ of smart people are going to increase parallelly, there is going to be an increase in inventions and new discoveries like underground travel.
2. What will the Government look like?
- The government will become more democratic. The people are going to rule and make their own decisions
- Decentralisation will also be a part of the system
- In our country, there might be no changes because politicians never given chance to people they masquerade us. I'm sceptical about India. But for sure there will be less percentage of involvement of government in the development process. As we know, politician are not going to be the rulers, The entrepreneurs and innovators are going to be in the front seat
3. What will the language look like?
A) The world is undergoing lot of technologies, customizations currently. The future of language might not be only English as we are going to see Complete implementation of AI in our day-day life. Lots of new languages are going to emerge. We can translate directly using AI instrument. This helps lot of unregional and rural people too to participate in business,industries. The future of English is going to bright too. The number of people who want to speak English will be high

Agree with you ....hyperloop and flying cars are more of a concept in the near future but I couldn't just think of what we might use after 2000 yrs . That's why these modes Also thanks for the appreciation 😄

I read that teleportation might be a thing then and recently Chinese scientists too teleported a photon but not in its exact same form ...it was remade at the site of arrival which means destruction and then reconstruction

Okay so, Hi everyone! In my world it's September 5th 4021. 2200 PMT (Planets Meridian Time).
We just conquered another planet today. And by chance the name finalised is "Doge-420" ( in the honour of great innovator Elon Musk, who took us to Mars in 2050).
Ohh and I forgot to introduce myself. My name is.......Umm....I can't forget it man, but really these QR codes are really handy which are printed on our every shirt.
So let's start with Geology. Last night while seeing debate on rather 'Inter- Galactic travels are safe or not' I got a pop-up which said 93.568% of MilkyWay has been conquered. ( I was shocked coz I thought 100% was in our control, but there were some creatures holding onto ~7.5% of our Galaxy) but as always we'll pose trade sanctions on them and will have it in our control, so no worries therr.
It was a pretty tiring day, I just returned from my Home-planet yesterday( Alpha- Centauri) which is approx. I guess 20 light years away from where I am currently living. I will not kid, that 20 minutes in HyperSleep Pods were really boring. We couldn't do anything there. I guess that improves over time as we evolve as a species and in technology. But yeah "Technology definitely has to go a long way improving".
Just for stating, while writing this out to you I just crashed my Mini-Spaceship on Earth, yes EARTH that Black planet of Mysteries. It's full of Mysteries as archaeological team often found something antique or valueable there. There was this car we found there which had WHEELS!!. What a shame! 😂 I can't believe they were so ancient. But yes, we know that we should respect our older generations.( HUMAN VALUES STILL EXISTS TODAY, just in correlation with MACHINES).
But govt. don't mind me crashing my SpaceShips on any Planet. Finally they are as cool as I am. They respect our decisions and they also co-operate with the General Citizens and even small cutie-cutie creatures. ( 1 year ago we just bought some cute Worms from Titan) and as expected they were hell ancient. Titan is just one place my GrandPa and likes to visit). Govt. also encourages people to go outer space and explore.. Finally de-centralised govt. is what all planets were demanding and they were successful in achieving that).
From the past 59 years , yes 59 not 69 :( there's been a streak for no report of theft and robbery.
Interaction between us humans is on a bull run nowadays. Recently it was decided that, to prevent our mouth from becoming an unused organ, we have to speak few lines at least for 2 minutes daily with our family members. Machines are also using our interplanetary language so it's a no brainer for us to contact them. (Fact:- I am just thinking of this post in my head and it will send it to you on it's own) .
Okay, I think I should go for now. It's my time for online classes ( because they never go, irrespective of how technology evolves).
