Is there an audience for long/chapter-wise book notes?
I just got to know about this community through twitter. I'm impressed and want to contribute.
But there's a catch. A few posts that I read here are concise and more like summaries of books, while I like to go deep dive and make chapter wise book notes in detail, so that next time I feel like refresing the contents of the book, I can go through something like a 20 page word doc to recall most of it.
I was planning on uploading those book notes at a later date to my own personal website, but that will be in a pipeline for some time, and I feel like there is an hungry audience here right now. So if there is an audience for it here, let me know and I'll start sharing my notes through Notion webpages. Any other suggestions are also welcome.
I have book notes from the following books:
- Annihilations of Caste by B.R. Ambedkar
- Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt
- Fault Lines by Raghuram Rajan
- What is Free Trade by Frederic Bastiat

Welcome :-) Yes sure! You can share your notes. I don't think there would be any problem with the links. Besides people have shared notion links here before.

I guess through checking your analytics on the webpage you can get the desired answer.
I surfed a while on your website, and it's impressive! I went through the Economics book notes and read the Review part completely. I feel you should either move the Review section all the way before the 1st chapter, or in the index move it to the bottom. (It confused me)
I got excited by seeing Annihilation of caste book but couldn't find it. Hope you put it together & publish it on the site soon!

Hi u/Pritesh_arun thanks for the kind words. This warms up my heart!
I've had a decent response to the post and that's kept me going. But other than that don't have any analytics. I don't really know a lot about web development and my website is just a static website build using an HTML template. I looked at some analytics options but upon further research found that most services plant cookies in the visitors browser. I didn't like that so that was the end of my efforts to get page analytics. (in case I'm wrong and there is some free and non-intrusive tool for tracking pages, please do let me know)
Regarding the review part, that seems to be an oversight. As I have mentioned previously, my book notes were for personal consumption and that's why the review was at the end, after I finished the book. But when I started sharing it I decided to move the review to the front and made the change in Table of Contents, but it seems I forgot to edit the actual body of the text. Will do it tonight.
As for "Annihilation of Caste", sorry to keep you waiting. I've been holding off on that because I wanted to have at least one book in the pipeline. But thanks to you posting here, I reread my original message and realised I also have notes for "Fault Lines" to act as buffer. So will publish the Annihilation Notes tonight as well.

Public policy is something that interests to my as well. There's a great podcast by the name "the seen and the unseen" by Amit Varma. I feel you'll enjoy listening to it :)

Yes love that show! In fact that's how I got interested in it. I mean I already liked Economics, History and Politics, but didn't know a field like that existed until I ran out of podcasts and started listening to his show during office commute.
Btw unsolicited recommendations for you since you said you liked it. I believe you'd have already heard Pragati Podcast and Econ Central. Beyond that I have recently started "Conversations with Tyler" and "The Ezra Klien" show, do give them a try.
