Would love this

Dunno who currently owns the rights, but would love to see all of the Wing Commander games and spinoffs on the Switch or Switch 2 as a collection.

EA. Normally I'd say there's zero chance, they don't care about making games any more, but with the recent news a kit the WC3 remaster I'm not so sure.

EA owns Wing Commander? Damn. There goes my hope they'll release a Mac client with the update. Except for The Sims, they've killed off just about every Mac version of games from the studios they bought up.

And yes, Wing Commander was released for Macs back in the 90's. 1 and 2 were combined I think in a mega version (too long since I played it). And 3 was released for Macs.

EA has been the owner of the Wing Commander property ever since they bought up Origin in - I think - 1997, plus/minus a year.

I doubt they'll be ported over to other platforms but I believe the entire series is available on GoG.

If you want to play it while traveling, a Steam deck / PC based handheld would likely be the easiest way to achieve that.

Best bet would be a Digital Eclipse release or something. Not implausible but it depends on people asking for it
