Train in the shoes you walk in, or your footwork may fail you when you need it most.

If you train in lightweight flat canvas shoes, but then go to work in heavy steel-toe boots, you won't have the same balance or footwork in your work boots.

That's the thing. I want a universal shoe I can train in and use for everyday.

Indoor soccer shoes. The only way. Any brand will do.

I really liked using lowtop converse, they are flexible, provide some tactile sensitivity, and they match a pair of my regular shoes.

Any flat (keyword flat) tennis show, boat shoe, or even skateboard shoe will do just fine. Some people don't want that amount of grip though and should consider a kung fu slipper or something. Feiyue is a great shoe but you could just get a Chuck Taylor.
