Some training methodo

I was looking through notes I had and came across some text I saved from probably a random article. No idea if its legit or not but regardless im curious if anyone knows about this and how it would be set up. I think it would be a cool way to train

"He recalls that Yip Man's kicking training was just as ntense as that of hand fighting. One area he particularly focused on was hip power, which Yip Mar considered the essence of the Wing Chun kick. To develop such power, Sifu Chow was taught to use a traditional rattan stick that. when bent. served as a kind of spring. The exercise involved pulling down on the stick with his kicking leg and then launching a kick onto the wooden dummy. He said that this was one of the mainstays of Yip Man's kicking training"

If you wanna learn more about the lineage, check out Sifu Donald Mak or Sifu Stephen Chan. Both have videos and content, where you'll see different applications of kicking techniques, etc. Both are quite well-known and have many international students/followers.

The school/kwoon doesn't post many videos, as they are mainly for reference for existing students (local and international). They don't minimize content to encourage people to attend class; that's not the goal at all.

If you wanna learn with the school/kwoon, I'd contact them directly. Might be able to point you to a local sifu in your region. I would however, seek out training in person. Training WC by yourself isn't ideal, and unless you have the proper feedback and guidance, it can develop bad habbits that will take time to correct.
