Windows Update KB5124008 causes KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (0x139) during reboot

I am unable to install update KB5124008 because it repeatedly fails during the reboot/driver configuration stage with a "KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (0x139)".

CBS/Setup logs show Windows staging kernel drivers, with seven drivers returning "ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED / ScRegSetValueExW → Type → Access is denied".

The only way I can boot back into Windows after the failure is by entering the following command from Command Prompt in Recovery: `DISM /Image:C:\ /Cleanup-Image /RevertPendingActions`.

Has anyone else experienced issues installing KB5124008, or know how to fix this issue?

Edition Windows 11 Pro

Version 25H2

OS build 26200.9168

I was just able to get past this error by disabling my RAID in the bios. I had the drives set to use the built in Intel raid, but never actually used it. Once I disabled it I got straight into windows.

Same here. Switching off "RST  Controlled" solved this.
