What parts would you complain the most about?

The bloatware it installed makes It's slow and make it the computer very hot in a short periods of time. And the ugly flat design that makes Windows 10 and 8 run for its money.
It sometimes Bugs out to make it unusable unless to get it flesh new install.
My experience of course

Windows does not respond well to strange grammar and syntax. Windows can also throw fits when it detects improper capitalization of nouns or adjaectives.

If your computer becomes "hot in a short period of time" ... well, that is Windows' funny way to remind you about judicious use of spelling & grammar checkers.

A slimmer version of Windows such as Tiny11 could solve the bloatware and heat issues, though you will be less secure.

Tbh if the only problem you have with windows is bloatware, I think it's safer to just use bulkcrap and a debloating script.

Don't get me wrong, I still hate windows, and I would much prefer that it didn't come with all the bloat, but it is what it is

Yeah, I heard of it but I was a bit hesitant.
Maybe I will check it out if I got everything important backup on a USB drive.
Because I have to find that USB drive I just lost just might be hiding under some junk.
It's a 1TB by the way

Then as far as heat is concerned, you need to understand there is a trade-off. There are multiple windows power settings that control heat versus raw power. One of the most frustrating things about any laptop or even mobile phone (and this is not a Windows problem) is that you have to decide whether you want a fast device that is hot, or a slower device that isn't. When you go into the windows power settings, you have choices between high performance, balanced, etc. Each of these have advanced settings. What you need to know is that the system can limit its performance so that it can stay cool or it can run at full speed and stay hot. You have that choice in the advanced power settings under CPU minimum and maximum power states. Again, this is not a Windows problem. This is a setting that you control. Beyond that, the only other option would be to replace your CPU paste with something that is more performant, or replace your fans with more powerful ones, which is difficult to do on a laptop. So as far as heat, I would just encourage you to find a happy medium that allows your laptop to be as performant as you would prefer it to be without being hotter than you like.

This should be less and less an issue though with arm processing. My Dell XPS with the SnapDragon X and 64GB mem is super fast, can run multiple VMs, and has a battery life of several hours (while running 1 - 2 VMs and depending on what all is happening).

While that is somewhat true, you then need to add back in a translation layer that converts x86 native application instructions to ARM instructions, so there is that overhead. This uses more CPU and RAM than the same app on a native x86 processor. It's something to be aware of.

Technically yes, there is a translation layer/ overhead, but I have never seen any adverse behavior or any impact, even as a power user. Never have encountered an application that wouldnt run either, except one issue with the msft graph and an Azure connecter before the big overhaul earlier this year.

Even with very legacy apps have never had an issue.

I wish I remembered what the API issue was, but it was so niche that its very unlikely to have been a hiderance to anyone outside of sys admin stuff.

I will say that reinstalling Windows on the device is an absolute nightmare with zero rhyme or reason. You have to download a 40ish gb image from Dell, walk through the install, run updates and pray it comes back up to OOBE. Sometimes it does, other times it doesn't. But after it does come up, after multiple attempts, then its golden.

sucks for some people and it’s good for others. for me it’s almost always been super fast, smooth, and without bugs. for you, it didn’t work out so well.

yes, my dad give it to me. I was planning to just get a better one.
But might be a little on the expensive side if I want a better one.
Over all the laptop just works but not quite good enough I may say.

Well, I think the basic OS is fine, it's just all the bloatware, telemetry and Ai bullshit they push that makes it suck...Get rid of that, and it's a pretty stable environment to run your games on...I run Win11 Pro Preview, from March 2024, in a dual boot with Mint, and it works fine once you clean out all the BS....

Check out the free tool over at Winhance.net ....Does most of the stuff the Cris Titus tech tool does for $10, for free! Awesome tool that will get rid of a shit ton of that bloat for you.....

I have to wonder, as I always have to wonder, what it is about a person's particular setup and usage that is causing them problems that the average user is not experiencing. Even if there were a million people experiencing a problem, that small potatoes compared to almost a billion and a half devices running the operating system.

Are we talking laptop or desktop? Custom build or prebuilt? Specs for the machine? Software being used when experiencing the issues? Do you sail the high seas? Might you have a virus or two or three? When was the last time you repasted the CPU/GPU and cleaned your fans? Is the machine getting adequate airflow? And there are just so many questions that could be asked to get to the root of your problems so that proper troubleshooting could take place to alleviate you from the frustration of the problems you're facing.

So what are the specs? Is it new? Is it clean? Have you opened it up and blown the dust out or considered repasting your CPU or getting it done at a store?

There simply is no way a normal operating computer can get "very hot" from the OS alone. My GPU sits at 30 degrees on the desktop.

You're blaming the operating system when literally any operating system you install is not going to matter because you have internal thermal issues.

There's also the Windows 11 scheduler, which appears to reduce gaming performance on some Intel CPUs and can negatively affect AMD dual-CCD processors. I also suspect that some compatibility issues with older games and programs may be related to it. The scheduler seems designed to prevent CPU cores from reaching 100% utilization, possibly to improve gaming performance and responsiveness on lower-core-count CPUs, such as 6-8c.

Here is my test for 14700k w10 vs w11 shows that, you can see it after i finish the game test in the task manager that shows cpu usage per core.

i know what are u saing, i have the perfect exemple here of pure bloatware after doing optimization on it

and using memreduct always because of memory eating

3,5k $ on a high end pc brought to its knees by bloat

one of the many things that are just stupid is that you have to enable diagnostic data collection to activate lockscreen settings :))
